A tribute to honor and celebrate the life and career of Ron Palillo, best known as Horshack on 'Welcome Back, Kotter' has been scheduled for today, October 3, 2012. The 6pm tribute will take place at The Triad Theatre, which is located at 158 West 72nd Street. Palillo died in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., on August, 14, 2012, of a heart attack. Broadway's Tyne Daly, a longtime friend, will host the event.

Trinity Rep opens its 49th season this month with Shakespeare's sweeping tragedy King Lear, a co-production with The Dallas Theater Center (DTC) and directed by DTC artistic director Kevin Moriarty. When the aging King Lear decides to divide his power between his three daughters, the results are devastating to the family - and the country. Driven by flattery, foolishness, ambition and greed, each generation soon betrays another and even nature itself revolts. King Lear runs through October 21 in Trinity Rep's intimate Dowling Theater. Berkshire Playwrights Lab will present a staged reading of James DeMarse's new play, Ceasefire, on Wednesday, August 22 at 7:30pm at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center (14 Castle Street, Great Barrington, Mass.). Directed by Joe Cacaci, the production will feature Tony Award-winning actors Ron Holgate and Roger Robinson, along with Kofi Boakye, Mickey Solis, and two actors to be announced. There is no charge for admission, however, Berkshire Playwrights Lab suggests a $10.00 donation to help offset its programming costs. Impact Broadway Takes 200 High School Students to GODSPELL

In May and June 2012, Impact Broadway and Godspell joined forces to give high school students a chance to see Godspell on Broadway. The Youth Impact Broadway Project, Inc. is a socially and technology driven youth audience development program which engages African-American and Latino high school students from the five NYC boroughs in the Broadway experience.
