Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo to Perform American Premiere of CHORE at Segerstrom Center, 2/11/16

COSTA MESA, CA – Segerstrom Center for the Arts welcomes the return of Les Ballets de Monte- Carlo February 11 – 13, 2016 with another American premiere: Jean-Christophe Maillot's Choré, featuring music by Danny Elfman and John Cage. Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo appears at the Center under the Presidency of H.R.H. the Princess of Hanover. This marks the Ballets' third visit to the Center, having previously brought the Southern California premiere the company's Cinderella and the American premiere of LAC.
Julian Lennon Foundation Donates $100,000 to Music For Relief for Nepal

Julian Lennon's White Feather Foundation, dedicated to the betterment of life, has contributed $100,000 to Music for Relief's Nepal aid fund. At the onset of the earthquake crisis, Julian launched a funding campaign through his Foundation via his social media platforms, including personally matching each donation. Music for Relief has been active in providing immediate aid since the devastating magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck on April 25. Funds raised are used to enable our partners on the ground to provide food, water, shelter, sanitation solutions, and to develop long-term recovery plans.

After a one-year layoff, this weekend extravaganza of song that began in 1999 under the guidance of actor and cabaret performer John O'Neil, will be back this June (4-7) bigger and better than ever. Singer and Cape Cod resident Patricia Fitzpatrick and Ambassador Productions has recruited O'Neil to help re-launch the event in its original format-only longer. CabaretFest 2015 Provincetown weekend will be jammed-packed with activities and shows that Fitzpatrick says, 'Promise to be educational, entertaining, and fun, and all will celebrate 'The Art of Cabaret!'

Legendary progressive rock pioneer Ian Anderson will make his Segerstrom Center for the Arts debut tonight, September 18 at 7:30 p.m. in Segerstrom Hall where he'll perform both Jethro Tull favorites and songs from his new album, Homo Erraticus. Homo Erraticus is out on April 15 on his own Calliandra Records, distributed by Kscope. The album continues with the story of Anderson's favorite enfant terrible Gerald Bostock. For his Center visit, he will be joined by guitarist Florian Opahle, bassist David Goodier, keyboardist John O'Hara, drummer Scott Hammond and singer Ryan O'Donnell.
