AUSTIN FILM FESTIVAL has announced the Polly Platt Award for Producing will be given to legendary independent producer Christine Vachon, and the Outstanding Television Writer Award will be given to groundbreaking showrunner Yvette Lee Bowser during the 2025 Writers Conference happening October 23 – 26, 2025.

AUSTIN FILM FESTIVAL (AFF) has announced that two awardees to be honored as part of its 31st Festival & Writers Conference happening October 24 – 31, 2024. The Writer’s Writer Award, introduced in 2023, honors a singular talent already recognized within the industry and by their peers, whose latest project has illustrated their versatility across mediums and elevated the trajectory of their career.

Renowned television writer Ronald D. Moore will be honored with the Outstanding Television Writer Award at the 2024 Austin Film Festival.

Kathleen Kennedy will be honored with the 2024 Polly Platt Award for Producing at the Austin Film Festival. The festival will celebrate Kennedy's illustrious career and contributions to the film industry.

The Texas State Library & Archives Commission (TSLAC) recently awarded funding to Austin Film Festival (AFF) and The Wittliff Collections at Texas State University under its TexTreasures Grant program. Starting September of this year, The Wittliff Collections is confirmed to host more of Austin Film Festival's vast audiovisual archive and feature materials preserved from Festivals and Conferences between 1997-2002.
