Ping Chong and Company will present All Islands Connect Underwater: a Celebration of Ping Chong and Bruce Allardice, convening artists and other luminaries for a public tribute PCC’s influential Founder and Artistic Director and his longtime professional partner, PCC Executive Director Bruce Allardice, who both retire from the company this year.

The Wilma Theater in Philadelphia will present the world premiere of SCHOOL PICTURES, a warmhearted and humorous portrait of modern high school life, told in musical snapshots of individual teenagers, on stage Nov. 2-20.

THE CENTER AT WEST PARK (CWP), the Upper West Side's cultural hub for diverse, engaging, and boundary-pushing performing arts, announces the Cohort of resident artists selected for the 2022/2023 Object Movement Puppetry Residency & Festival, an annual presentation of new short works developed in residence at The Center at West Park.

George Bartenieff – actor, director, and co-founder of Theater for the New City – will be remembered at one of theatres he called home, La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club. Bartenieff’s life and work will be celebrated at Coffeehouse Chronicles #166 on October 1, 2022 at 3pm, at the Ellen Stewart Theatre.

La MaMa in association with Kinding Sindaw presents the New York premiere of Posaka from October 20 - 23, 2022 at The Downstairs at La MaMa. Through ritual dance and chanted epics, Indigenous tradition-bearers visiting from the Philippines share the healing traditions of four sacred lineages: Maguindanao, Meranao, Tausug, and Tboli.

La MaMa will present the world premiere of Betsy by award-winning choreographer Neil Greenberg. A proper noun, a subject that does and performs, Betsy is a new dance exploring the phenomenon of performance itself. Performances will take place November 12–14.

The Santa Fe Opera will present the world premiere of This Little Light of Mine, a new opera about the life of voting rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer. The one-act opera is composed by Chandler Carter with libretto by Diana Solomon-Glover. Under development since 2017, the piece is commissioned by the Santa Fe Opera and its Opera for All Voices (OFAV) consortium partners.

Playwrights Horizons will present Mia Chung’s Catch as Catch Can, directed by Daniel Aukin, running October 14 - November 20 and opening November 1.

Cultural Solidarity Fund (CSF), a coalition of cultural institutions administered by the IndieSpace/Indie Theater Fund with leadership from LEIMAY was organized during the pandemic to provide both solidarity and support to the arts community at a time when its very survival was in question.

Historic six-time Tony Award Winner Audra McDonald returned to the Provincetown Town Hall series produced by Mark Cortale on August 28 with Seth Rudetsky as music director & host. The Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York announced that the Mellon Foundation has awarded the organization a fourth and final year of funding to administer the New York Theater Program, which will be distributed to the program’s current grantees in July 2022, extending the current grant cycle through June 30, 2023.

The Ping Chong and Company (PCC) Board of Directors and Staff, as the organization celebrates 50 years of its founder's artistry, today announce a three-year leadership transition plan to support the next generation of interdisciplinary artists and expand the Company's long standing Undesirable Elements community specific program. This new vision is supported by $900,000 from the Mellon Foundation, which has provided lead funding for the $1.5 million transition budget.
