Westport Country Playhouse will open its 2015 Season with the comedy, 'The Liar,' an adaptation by David Ives of Pierre Corneille's classic comedy that weaves an increasingly intricate web of lies leading to hilarious romantic misadventures. Celebrating the Playhouse's 85th season, the comedy will run tonight, May 5 - 23, directed by Penny Metropulos.

A.R.T. Institute to Present 'MUCH ADO' & 'DESDEMONA'

The American Repertory Theater/Moscow Art Theater School Institute for Advanced Theater Training, presents the last two productions of its season, William Shakespeare's comedy Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Anya Safir, and Paula Vogel's Desdemona: A Play About a Handkerchief, directed by Melia Bensussen.

Westport Country Playhouse to Host Symposium with Playwright David Ives

Tony Award-nominated playwright David Ives will be the guest at Westport Country Playhouse's Sunday Symposium following a 3 p.m. performance of his comedy, "The Liar," on Sunday, May 10.  Ives will discuss his adaptation of "The Liar" from the comedy by Pierre Corneille, about a man who weaves an increasingly intricate web of lies leading to hilarious romantic misadventures.

Theatre Pro Rata to Open THE ILLUSION This June

?On Friday, June 12, Theatre Pro Rata opens The Illusion by Tony Kushner at Park Square Theatre in St. Paul. The play is being produced as part of the inaugural season of the new Andy Boss Thrust Stage and as part of Park Square's Theatres in Residence Series.

Westport Country Playhouse to Open 2015 Season with Block Party

Westport Country Playhouse will host a "2015 Season Kick-off Block Party," on Saturday, April 11, 4 to 7 p.m., offering a fun, party-like atmosphere with food trucks, games and activities, prizes, special ticket offers, and a look at the Playhouse's "backstage experience." Admission is free and open to the public.

Gulfshore Playhouse to Stage World Premiere of THE BUTCHER, 2/28-3/22

Gulfshore Playhouse will produce their second World Premiere in as many years with The Butcher by Gwydion Suilebhan, playing February 28th through March 22nd with $30 preview performances on February 25th, 26th and 27th. Playwright talkbacks will take place following each preview performance and following the 3pm matinee performance on Sunday, March 1st. The Butcherwas featured as a finalist in Gulfshore Playhouse's 1st Annual New Works Festival in August 2013.

THE LIAR Plays Oakland University this Week

Thursday, Nov. 13 marks the opening of Oakland University's production of Pierre Corneille's farcical classic 'The Liar.' To prepare for the play, students and faculty in Oakland's Department of Music, Theatre and Dance sought out guidance from faculty members across campus. Kim Serota, who has conducted extensive research on the subject of lying, shared insights to help the student actors prepare for their roles.

ANGELS IN AMERICA to Return to NYC This Fall with Ivo van Hove's Revival at BAM

Angels in America by Tony Kushner will be revived by Toneelgroep Amsterdam an directed by Ivo van Hove at BAM's Howard Gilman Opera House (30 Lafayette Ave) on October 23 & 24 at 7 p.m. and October 25 at 6 p.m. The production will feature set and light design by Jan Versweyveld, costume design by Wojciech Dziedzic, video design by Tal Yarden and music by Wim Selles. In Dutch with English titles.

Westport Country Playhouse's 2015 Season to Feature Works by Alan Ayckbourn, David Ives & More

Westport Country Playhouse announces its 2015 season, featuring a celebration of playwright Arthur Miller's centennial, as well as plays by Alan Ayckbourn, David Ives, and C. P. Taylor, to be staged next year from May through October. Under the artistic direction of Mark Lamos, 2015 will mark the Connecticut professional theater's 85th season.

The three companies in residence at Park Square Theatre for the 2015 season, Sandbox Theatre, Theatre Pro Rata and Girl Friday Productions, today announce their programming for Park Square Theatre's new Andy Boss Thrust Stage for the next year. These partners will bring diverse aesthetic approaches and artistic forms, fresh talent as well as favorite faces to Park Square's seasons over the next three years. Tickets sales begin July 31st for the theatres in residence.
