This Thanksgiving weekend the Atlantic City Ballet will be bringing back It's A Shore Holiday to help kick off the holiday season. It's A Shore Holiday blends classical and contemporary dance set to beloved holiday tunes. This "Radio City-esque" review will feature the AC Ballet Professional company along with live singers and the second appearance this season by the AC Ballet Ensemble, a six piece band. Along with creating the AC Ballet Ensemble under the direction of Musical Director, Paul LoPresti, the ballet's successful partnership with the Garden State Philharmonic will continue for a 3rd season with this year's performances of The Nutcracker. But Ms. Papa points out, "This "ballet" is more of a review as there is no storyline so it is very different from The Nutcracker" says Phyllis Papa, AC Ballet's Artistic Director. "It really showcases the company's versatility because there is all forms of dance incorporated throughout the show". This particular program had it's premier last season and was such a hit, that the company thought it would be a great way to start the holidays. Appropriate for the entire family, there is something for everyone including dancing snowmen, chipmunks and dancing soldiers who perform their entire routine on pointe.

What happens when you combine the disciplined artistry of ballet and Broadway's most beloved show stopping moments? You get a night of pure entertainment and an opportunity to see Broadway in a whole new way. Ballet Goes Broadway is AC Ballet's Artistic Director, Phyllis Papa's, new creation. Inspired by the Broadway shows she would see as a child, this ballet is made up of the music from the shows that moved Ms. Papa to have a career in the performing arts. This ballet also marks the premier of AC Ballet's Ensemble, a six piece instrumental group that will accompany the dancers. Headed by Musical Director, Paul LoPresti, the ensemble is just the beginning of a journey to bring live music to all the performances. 'We hope that this type of ballet, with familiar music, will entice audiences to come and see our more traditional ballets.' says Ms. Papa. 'We know once they come see one, they'll want to come back again and again!'

The tale of Sleeping Beauty comes to life in the most majestic classical ballet of all time. Set to Tchaikovsky's fabulous and familiar score and combined with Artistic Director, Phyllis Papa's stunning choreography, Sleeping Beauty is a timeless classic you can enjoy with the entire family. With special appearances by fairy tale favorites like Puss-In-Boots and Little Red Riding Hood and of course, that kiss from the handsome prince, Atlantic City Ballet's, Sleeping Beauty will create a memory to cherish happily ever after. Children attending the performance will have the opportunity to meet and take a picture with Sleeping Beauty after the performance.

American Repertory Ballet presented yet another successful opening night of the highly acclaimed Nutcracker production Thanksgiving weekend at McCarter Theater in Princeton.
