New Theatre Arts Classes Offered at Gettysburg Community Theatre

Gettysburg Community Theatre, the non-profit 501c3 organization located in the original Elks Lodge building at 49 York Street within the first block of Lincoln Square in historic downtown Gettysburg, will offer a variety of theatre arts classes for children and adults this winter and spring beginning the week of January 9th.

The musical is directed by Phillip George (Forbidden Broadway), choreographed by Amy Hall Garner.

BWW Review: Cary Arts Center's FORBIDDEN BROADWAY

For one night only, the Cary Arts Center presented a production of Gerard Alessandrini's hit off-Broadway musical revue Forbidden Broadway. In the show, a quartet of performers sing rewritten parodies of classic musical theatre songs from classics such as Annie, Aspects of Love, Beauty & the Beast, Fiddler on the Roof, Gypsy, Into the Woods, Jersey Boys, Les Miserables, The Lion King, Mary Poppins, Oklahoma!, The Phantom of the Opera, The Sound of Music, West Side Story, and Wicked.

Amas Musical Theatre to Offer Additional Staged Readings of GOTTA GETTA GIRL and A TASTE OF CHOCOLATE

Amas Musical Theatre and The Amas Musical Theatre Lab will present additional staged readings next month of two musicals in development for upcoming full productions. First up will be Gotta Getta Girl, a 1930's musical romp with book and lyrics by Peter Charles Morris and music by David Caldwell, directed by Phillip George (Forbidden Broadway) with musical direction by Mr. Caldwell. The readings will be held on Monday, November 2 @ 6pm and Tuesday November 3 @ 3pm & 7pm, at The Playroom Theatre (151 West 46thStreet, 8th Floor - between Broadway & 6th Avenue).

Segerstrom Center to Open 2015-16 Spotlight Series with FORBIDDEN BROADWAY, 10/1-4

 Segerstrom Center for the Arts' 2015 - 2016 Spotlight Series opens with the sidesplitting savagery known as Forbidden Broadway October 1 - 4, 2015. There will be just four performances of a special adaptation of their recent hit edition, Forbidden Broadway Alive and Kicking! The cast includes members of the Tony Award®-winning New York company, including Forbidden Broadway stalwarts Gina Kreiezmar, Marcus Stevens, Kevin B. McGlynn and Trisha Rapier (who hails from Orange County!). This touring edition is presented by John Freedson and Harriet Yellin.

Amas Musical Theatre & Song Salon to Offer Special Benefit Presentation of GOTTA GETTA GIRL, 6/22

 Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) and The Amas Song Salon will offer a special benefit presentation of Gotta Getta Girl, a 1930's musical romp with book and lyrics by Peter Charles Morris and music by David Caldwell. Directed by Phillip George (Forbidden Broadway) with musical direction by Mr. Caldwell and a cast of three - Michael LaMasa, Brieghanna Minnema and Sam Underwood ("Dexter, "Homeland," "The Following"), the presentation will be held on Monday, June 22 in a beautiful terraced apartment in Harlem. The evening will begin at 6pm with cocktails and light dinner, followed by the performance and post-performance discussion at 7:30pm. Allenberry Playhouse Presents SHOUT! THE MOD MUSICAL, Now thru 6/14

The 60s swing with vintage British pop music faves in Shout! The Mod Musical at Allenberry Playhouse from tonight, May 13 through June 14. Allenberry's production is directed by Artistic Director Ryan Gibbs, with choreography by Dann Dunn (Allenberry's The Marvelous Wonderettes) and music direction by Harrison Beck (Broadway: The Visit).

Bianco Joins Cast Of FORBIDDEN BROADWAY, Transferring To Vaudeville Theatre From Sep 2014!

Following a sold-out and critically acclaimed run at the Menier Chocolate Factory, the theatre is delighted to announce its "breathtakingly funny" (Guardian) production of FORBIDDEN BROADWAY will transfer to the West End's Vaudeville Theatre on Tuesday 9th September - 22nd November, with press night on Monday 15th September at 7 pm.
