This week at Joe's Pub at the Public, August 5-11, will feature: Summer & Eve...and Friends, Jac 'n Swallow, Diego Figueiredo, Ryan Star, Freestyle Love Supreme, Lindsay Katt, Debauche, Katy Steele/Andrew Shapiro, Osekre/Mean Lady, Kim Lenz, Lalana, Henry Butler, Jayme Stone, and Incoming! The Public Theater's Under the Radar Festival.

TAKE Dance, the New York City-based contemporary dance troupe led by Artistic Director/Founder Takehiro Ueyama, presents DARK MOURNING - two nights of world premiere works on Friday, September 27th& Saturday, September 28th at NYC's Peter Norton Symphony Space. The program will include: the world premieres of the eponymous Dark Mourning by Take Ueyama, and a specially choreographed new work by renowned choreographer/master teacher Kazuko Hirabayashi; along with the fan favorite and critically acclaimed Flight.

Adelaide chamber music promoters, The Firm, present their second concert in this year's series featuring the work of the great romantic composer Franz Schubert. Following the exquisite vocal and piano concert earlier this year, The Firm present Schubert's late miraculous triptych of piano sonatas beginning with a performance of the Sonata in C minor D.958.

Renowned conductor Gerard Schwarz and his hand-picked team of top orchestral musicians from across the United States come together to form a made-for-television classical music concert seriespremiering on THIRTEEN on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. The All-Star Orchestra, similar to Major League Baseball's All-Star team, is composed of the finest orchestral 'athletes' from leading orchestras across the country. Featuring exceptional performances of symphonic masterpieces and contemporary works, The All-Star Orchestra seeks to expose broad audiences to classical music through a format that is both informative and accessible.Naxos of America, the #1 independent classical music distributor in the U.S. and Canada, will release this unique series on DVD on September 24, 2013.

A number of program changes and additions have been made to the performances, screenings, and events presented by Great Performers and the White Light Festival at Lincoln Center this season. Below is a final schedule of events for both series through June 4, 2013.

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, announced today additional casting for its upcoming production of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet starring Elizabeth Olsen as Juliet. Academy Award winner William Hurt will play the role of Friar Laurence; Emmy Award nominee T.R. Knight has been cast as Mercutio and Tony Award nominee Daphne Rubin-Vega as the Nurse. CSC also announced that Finn Wittrock, previously announced to co-star as Romeo, has withdrawn from the production due to a film offer. A new Romeo and complete casting will be announced shortly. CSC's Romeo & Juliet, which begins performances Friday, September 27, will be directed by Tea Alagi? (Jackie). The official opening night is Wednesday, October 16. Romeo & Juliet will play a limited engagement through Sunday, November 3. Tickets will go on sale Thursday, September 5 at 12pm.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the Broadway cast of The Winslow Boy, starring Tony nominee Michael Cumpsty as 'Desmond Curry', Academy & Tony Award nominee Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio as 'Grace Winslow', Alessandro Nivola as 'Sir Robert Morton' and Tony Award winner Roger Rees as 'Arthur Winslow'.

La MaMa presents Maureen Fleming in the New York premiere of B. MADONNA. Created, choreographed, and performed by Fleming, it features text by Tony Award winner David Henry Hwang, music by Philip Glass performed live by pianist Bruce Brubaker, original accordion by Guy Klucevsek, Taiko drumming by Kaoru Watanabe and three-dimensional video projections by longtime collaborator Christopher Odo. Performances begin October 17 at The Ellen Stewart Theater at La MaMa. Please note: This performance contains nudity.

The Center for Contemporary Opera (CCO), founded in 1982 and recognized as a leading proponent of new opera, will present the World Premiere of 'Oration' by Danish composer Ms. Line Tjørnhøj, July 26 & 27, 8 PM at the Cell Theatre, 338 West 23 Street. Symphony Space, New York's home for innovative and diverse cultural programming on the Upper West Side, celebrates its 35th season of Music programs in 2013-14 with a stellar array of artists in imaginative, thought-provoking presentations. Curated by Artistic Director Laura Kaminsky, the offerings range from marathon celebrations to intimate recitals, encompassing a rich variety of musical styles. Highlights include a visit from Krzysztof Penderecki, October 25; the fifth THE MUSIC OF NOW MARATHON, with the dream-inspired theme of 'REM: Rapid Ear Movement,' February 1; and appearances by Dar Williams, Tom Paxton, Christine Lavin, and other icons of folk/acoustic music. Capping the season is SLEEPING AROUND, a multidisciplinary festival celebrating the culture, history, art, scene, and scandal of New York's most famous hotels, highlighted by WALL TO WALL SLEEPING AROUND on May 3.

Today we're speaking with Tara Hugo, Olivier nominee for THE THREEPENNY OPERA at the Donmar Warehouse, star of JoAnne Akalaitis and Philip Glass' THE BACCHAE at the New York Shakespeare Festival, singer, lyricist and all-around talented actress. Hugo is reprising her 2010 London role in the new musical LEGACY FALLS, a soap opera farce currently playing through July 24th at this year's New York Musical Theatre Festival. Below, Hugo talks about starting fresh with a new cast, her favorite scene and takes a detour to discuss her new album of Philip Glass songs.
