Katie Reimer will offer a performance of solo piano works by Bach, Chopin, Liszt, Schubert, and living composers Mohammed Fairouz, Philip Glass, and Daniel Bernard Roumain. The recital will feature the NYC premiere of Daniel Bernard Roumain's Nine Soul Settings of a Bach Chorale, a piece Ms. Reimer commissioned to be performed throughout the 2013-14 season. The program explores the way composers spanning 300 years use repetition to slowly transform and change our understanding of an original idea.

Hailed by the New York Times for her 'meditative' playing, Katie Reimer is a concert pianist with broad interests as both a soloist and collaborative musician. Strongly committed to contemporary music, she is the pianist and Artistic Director of the Mimesis Ensemble, a New York City based ensemble dedicated to performing chamber music by living composers.

The concert is Sunday, March 30, 2014 at 4:00 pm, at Allegro Pianos in New York City. Tickets are $20 general admission and $5 for students. Tickets may be purchased at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/594220.
