In 1966 the Hallmark Hall of Fame presented a television adaptation of Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt's Off Broadway musical THE FANTASTICKS. Ricardo Montalban appeared as El Gallo and Bert Lahr and Stanley Holloway were the two fathers. The young lovers were played by Broadway's favorite ingenue, Susan Watson, and a clean-cut young man named John Davidson who had made a strong impression on Broadway audiences as Lahr's son in the musical FOXY.

The Palm Springs Art Museum's Artists Council will be holding its annual 99 Bucks art sale fundraiser on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at 4:30 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Hotel Zoso in downtown Palm Springs. This event features free admission with a cash bar where more than 550 5"x 7" canvases that have been submitted by artists and celebrities will be available for sale, each at $99. These canvases are sold anonymously, so the artist's name is not revealed until the work is purchased. All proceeds for the event benefit the museum's educational programming.

Singer/actress Jan Daley will perform her one-woman show Where There's Hope at The Arthur Newman Theatre at The Joslyn Center in Palm Desert on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 2 PM as part of Les Michaels' Life Is A Cabaret Sunday Series. Joining Jan Daley will be musical director David Cohen on the piano. The show will feature many standards from the Great American Songbook that Ms. Daley performed throughout her career, especially those highlighted by her USO tours with Bob Hope entertaining more than 40,000 GI's.

Not only does the world love Betty White, but as Jamie Lee Curtis so poignantly pointed out at the 40th annual Actors and Others for Animals, Celebration of Caring, it seems every inhabitant of the world also wants Betty White to love them. Adding to a long list of organizations wanting, pleading and begging Ms. White to be their honoree, Actors and Others for Animals holds a very special place in Betty's heart. An organization she has been apart of since its first meetings, that helps those to whom her heart is fondest - Pets. A point Ms. Curtis illustrated by dawning puppy attire (furry floppy ears and paws), before bestowing the honoree with doggy kisses.
