THE HAUNTING OF BLAINE MANOR Embarks on Halloween Tour

England, 1953. Renowned American parapsychologist Doctor Roy Earle, famous for discrediting hauntings and exposing fake mediums, is invited to attend a seance in what is said to be the most haunted building in England, a building with a horrific history, Blaine Manor. Even the locals won't set foot there, as all who walk within those grounds will be cursed.

BWW Review: SOMETHING TRULY MONSTROUS Takes You on a Wickedly Wild Ride!

Legends about Hollywood stars are often difficult to prove or disprove. Such is the case about what happened to famous Shakespearean actor John Barrymore after his death. What can be substantiated is that on May 19, 1942, while recording a line from Romeo and Juliet for the show, Barrymore collapsed. He was taken to the Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital and died there on May 29 from cirrhosis of the liver and kidney failure, complicated by pneumonia. It is at this point the legend begins and turns into something truly monstrous.

BWW Review: BWW Suggests You Avoid This DANGEROUS CORNER

J.B Priestley's DANGERUOUS CORNER is the season opener at 2nd Story Theater in Warren, and I have to say I was disappointed. Theater requires a 'willing suspension of disbelief,' to steal a phrase from William Taylor Coleridge, and this production did not facilitate that end. Trevor Elliot's set was fine, some truly beautiful art deco chairs stage left, very cool wall decorations, and a baby grand stage right. Ron Cesario's costumes-black tie for the men, elegant gowns for the women, also looked good on the actors.

BWW Reviews: ARSENIC AND OLD LACE at Chaffin's Barn

Arsenic and Old Lace, Joseph Kesselring's iconic stage comedy cum murder mystery that plays on the pop culture aspects of life in 1940s Brooklyn, has been around so long - and produced so often - that you might, at first blush, consider it just another title from theater's storied past, one that seems dated and rather unpretentiously charming, yet uncompelling.

ARSENIC AND OLD LACE to Open Albuquerque Little Theatre's 86th Season

Albuquerque Little Theatre will open their 86th season with the laugh-a-minute, screwball comedy ARSENIC AND OLD LACE by Joseph Kesselring. The show revolves around the Brewster family, descended from the 'Mayflower,' but now composed of insane homicidal maniacs. The hero, Mortimer Brewster, is a drama critic who must deal with his crazy family and local police in Brooklyn, NY, as he debates whether to go through with his recent promise to marry the woman he loves. His family includes two spinster aunts who have taken to murdering lonely old men, a brother who believes he is Theodore Roosevelt and digs locks for the Panama Canal in the cellar of the Brewster home, and a murderous brother who has received plastic surgery to conceal his identity and now looks like horror-film actor Boris Karloff. Classic farce at its best!!
