ROMEO & JULIET by William Shakespeare is currently in previews for an opening tomorrow, 23 September, at Sheffield Theatres' Crucible Theatre. Humphreys directs Scott Arthur (Benvolio), Charlie Bate (Pastor), Morfydd Clark (Juliet), Joanna Croll (Lady Montague/Sister), Freddie Fox (Romeo), Michael Hodgson (Capulet), Jonny Holden (Tybalt), Hugh John (The Prince), Robin Kingsland (Montague), Andrew Leung (Paris/Abram), Rachel Lumberg (The Nurse), Simon Manyonder (Mercutio),Shaun Mason (Sampson/Capitan), Joshua Miles (Peter/Gregory/Balthasar) and Natalie Thomas (Lady Capulet). The production opens on 23 September, with previews from 17 September, and runs until 17 October.

In 1994, Bette Midler returned to New York after nearly 20 years in Los Angeles, and started the New York Restoration Project, a non-profit organization devoted to bringing abandoned and neglected parks, gardens, and open spaces in all five boroughs back to life. NYRP includes the beautiful New Leaf Cafe in Fort Tryon Park as part of its success, and is committed to helping restore parks and gardens devastated by Hurricane Sandy. Mike Judge ('Office Space,' 'Beavis & Butt-head,' 'King of the Hill') brings his irreverent brand of humor to HBO in the new comedy series SILICON VALLEY. The series features late stage and screen actor Christopher Evan Welch ('The Master', 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona'), who passed away on December 2, 2013 of lung cancer at the age of 48. Five and a half of the eight episodes were filmed before Welch's death and the plot will continue as planned for Season 1.

This spring marks the 15th anniversary production of The Diary of Anne Frank by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett at Park Square Theatre. When it closes on May 15, the production-the touching story of a brave young woman coming of age in hiding from the Nazis-will have played for 638 performances and inspired 201,000 audience members, including tens of thousands of students from all over Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa. The original Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning Broadway production played for 717 performances. Julie Ann Nevill, who has played Mrs. Van Daan since the first curtain call, said 'This show has tremendous impact on our whole region with as many as 16,000 students seeing it every year - for most it's their first professional live theatre experience.
