The New York Civil Liberties Union, the New York State affiliate of the ACLU, announced today a star-studded lineup of award-winning performers for its annual benefit concert. Some of Broadway's brightest were on hand Saturday in the tiny bedroom community of Salem, CT for an afternoon concert that officially launched the inaugural season of the Bingham Camp Theatre Retreat (BCTR), a resident program aimed at developing new works. The event kicked off a summer of preparation for the innovative program's first retreat which will take place September 25th through October 5th, 2015.

On May 11, 2015, the Executive Board of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC) ratified a new four-year Theatreworks USA agreement granting SDC directors and choreographers increased compensation for workshop and tour activity and guaranteeing the right of first refusal for the first remount of a production following a premiere tour. SDC also achieved increases in both the choreographer's and director/choreographer's royalty participation. The agreement goes into effect on July 1, 2015. Theatreworks USA is an independent signatory of SDC that develops, produces, and presents theatre for young and family audiences throughout the United States.
