World Premiere Play MAVERICK Depicts Orson Welles' Final Days

Executive Producers Pam Carter and The Cliplight Theater, in conjunction with Amanda Cooper/ALC Management, are pleased to announce the world premiere of Maverick, co-authored by Frank Beacham and George Demas. A dramatization of co-author Beacham's real-life experience collaborating with Orson Welles in the months leading up to his death, Maverick begins previews at The Connelly Theater (220 E. 4th St., between Ave. A & Ave. B) on February 6, with opening night set for February 13 for a limited run through March 2. Tickets, priced $30-$50, are available at www.mavericktheplay.com.

Amazon Studios Signs Overall Deal with THE HANDMAID'S TALE Producer/Director Reed Morano

Amazon Studios today announced it has signed an overall television deal with Emmy Award-winning producer and director Reed Morano (The Handmaid's Tale). Morano made history by being the first woman to ever win the Emmy and DGA Award in the same year for a dramatic series - both for her work on The Handmaid's Tale and was the first woman to win an Emmy in the Drama series category in 22 years. She will exclusively work with Amazon Studios to create original series which will be made available on Amazon Prime Video in over 200 countries and territories.

HBO Ties For Most Emmy Wins with 23 Awards

HBO received 23 Primetime Emmy® Awards, tied for the most wins this year, in the 70th Annual Primetime Emmy® Awards competition. “Game of Thrones” led all programming with 9 Emmys®.

Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan To Headline SYNCHRONIC

Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan are in negotiations to star in directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead's sci-fi thriller SYNCHRONIC. The film will be produced by David Lawson Jr. along with Moorhead and Benson for Rustic Films, with a script written by Benson. XYZ Films is handling international sales, with XYZ co-repping domestic rights with UTA.
