Universal Inks Deal with Berg, Film 44

Universal Media Studios has signed an overall development deal with Peter Berg and his partner Sarah Aubrey's production company Film 44 (NBC's 'Friday Night Lights,' 'Hancock'). As part of the new agreement, Film 44 will produce the drama pilot 'Prime Suspect.'

ABC Family has acquired the basic cable television rights to the Emmy(R) Award-winning television series 'Friday Night Lights,' in a deal with NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution, it was announced today by Tom Zappala, Executive Vice President, Program Acquisitions & Scheduling, ABC Cable Networks Group, and Frances Manfredi, Executive Vice President/General Sales Manager, Cable and Non-Theatrical Sales for NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution.

Opening night is scheduled for Tuesday, September 15 at 7:00pm. The production will run through Sunday, October 4.
