His goal is to con the good townspeople out of their money, but Marian the Librarian has other plans. This wonderful slice of Americana will leave your entire family humming such familiar tunes as "Seventy-Six Trombones, "Gary, Indiana," and "'Till There Was You."

Elevator Repair Service (ERS) is hosting their spring benefit on Monday, May 3rd, 2010. The company is currently finishing the third play in a trilogy of critically acclaimed plays based on great American novels by William Faulkner, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Ernest Hemingway. This event will celebrate ERS's success with Frances McDormand (Burn after Reading, Fargo), Lili Taylor ('Six Feet Under'), Fred Armisen ('Saturday Night Live'), Frankie Faison ('The Wire'), and ERS company members in a one night only performance of loved, banned and mythologized American fiction. Authors include Edith Wharton, Willa Cather, and Edgar Allan Poe. Readings will be accompanied by ERS's unique signature sound design.

Feinstein Named Artistic Director Of The New Regional Performing Arts Centre in Carmel, Indiana

The Regional Performing Arts Center in Carmel, Indiana, will welcome its new artistic director, Michael Feinstein, when it opens next fall. The centre will house a concert hall and two theatres. Carmel will also become the home of the headquarters for the Foundation for the Education and Preservation of the Great American Songbook. Facilities at the Centre will serve as exhibition and office space for the Feinstein Collection and other materials pertaining to the Great American Songbook. These materials will also be made available to scholars, as well as to students and the general public on special occassions.
