Broadway will come to The Cape Playhouse this summer as Hunter Foster, Jen Cody, Nick Spangler, and Kaitlyn Davidson come to the theatre in a season of Playhouse premieres and Broadway favorites. Erik Orton, Guest Artistic Director, today announced the casting for the historic theater's 90th Season in Dennis, MA. Six shows - a mix of comedies, dramas, and musicals - will play from June 7 - August 30, 2016.

In 1994 Sarajevo, in a bedroom brimming with bullet holes, Dahlia and Peter have a whirlwind romance. A famous writer reporting on the Bosnian War, he leaves her to return to his wife. In 2001 Kabul, in a bedroom with blacked out windows, an Afghan prostitute is having affair with a member of the Taliban religious police. Dahlia's book about Leila, Ash and the aftermath of their affair in Kabul makes her a famous writer in her own right. On her book tour, struggling with how we all profit from telling stories of war from a safe distance, Dahlia and Peter meet again.

The Buck Creek Players will continue their 40th Anniversary Season 'Fabulous at 40' with Clare Boothe Luce's comedy, The Women, opening Friday, March 21st, and running for two weekends through Sunday, March 30th. Producer of the Cape Playhouse, and Chief Executive of the Cape Cod Center for the Arts, Mark Cuddy, today announced that Joseph Guglielmo has been appointed to the newly created position of General Manager of the Playhouse and Center for the Arts campus. He begins full-time on January 20th, and will report directly to Cuddy.
Richard B. Hawes, Jr., President of the Board of Trustees of the Cape Playhouse and Cape Cod Center for the Arts, today announced that veteran theatre leader, Mark Cuddy, will assume the newly-created position of Playhouse Producer and Chief Executive of the Cape Cod Center for the Arts. Mr. Cuddy has been the Artistic Director of the largest producing theatre in New York State outside of Manhattan, Rochester's Geva Theatre Center, for the past eighteen years. He will continue in that position as he begins with the Playhouse immediately. Mr. Cuddy has led theatres across the country for over thirty-three years, and serves on the Board of Directors of Theatre Communications Group, the nation's service organization for the advancement of professional, not-for-profit theatres.
