Phylicia Rashad to Return to The Public in HEAD OF PASSES This Spring

BroadwayWorld is excited to report initial casting for The Public Theater's New York premiere of HEAD OF PASSES, written by Tarell Alvin McCraney and directed by Tina Landau. Phylicia Rashad returns to The Public to play 'Shelah' in this deeply moving new drama about family, acceptance, and the power of faith. Rashad last appeared at The Public in THE STORY by Tracey Scott Wilson in 2003. HEAD OF PASSES begins previews on Tuesday, March 15 in the Newman Theater with an official press opening on Monday, March 28.

Oregon Shakespeare Festival Closes 80th Anniversary Year

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival wrapped up its 80th year Sunday night, November 1, with the final performances of Much Ado about Nothing and Pericles. Preparations for the 2016 season are well under way; 2016 member ticket sales start this week and preview performances begin February 19. The 2016 opening weekend is February 26-28.

San Diego Rep Announces Cast for So Cal Premiere of THE OLDEST BOY

The complete cast and creative team have been announced for the Southern California Premiere of 'The Oldest Boy' as San Diego REPertory Theatre continues its 40th Anniversary Season. REP Co-Founder and Artistic Director Sam Woodhouse directs his second production of the season, taking on this one-of-a-kind play by REP favorite, Sarah Ruhl. The show's run will begin performances on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015 and run through Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015 with an opening night on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015 at 7 p.m. in the Lyceum Stage Theatre.

Playing Friday, November 12th through December 5th, Far Away is a timely and thought-provoking work set in a government-controlled dystopia, following a young woman as she becomes an adult and struggles to understand the world around her.
