Mad Cat Theatre Company returns to the South Beach Comedy Festival with 'Gerald Ford Superfreak', a new comedy from Miami's leading purveyor of progressive, avant-garde theatre, and co-written by Mat Cat's founder and mad genius Paul Tei and company members Jessica Farr and Theo Reyna. 'Gerald Ford Superfreak' explores the ripples of history, more specifically, how the effects of Gerald Ford's presidency carried over to our country's leadership in the year 2112 - as told by a surprise narrator from the future.

After the contagious success of Blow Me by Jessica Farr at our new home at the Miami Theater Center, Mad Cat Theatre Company is pleased to present MIXTAPE 2: UMMAGUMMA FORZA ZUMA! a collection of new works by various local artists and familiar faces. In 2008, Mad Cat released its first MIXTAPE featuring a mix of new plays and films steeped in nostalgia. Now, six years later, Mad Cat is back with a new mix of plays and films, MIXTAPE 2: UMMAGUMMA FORZA ZUMA!, a theatrical stew that is very much embedded in the present. MIXTAPE 2: UMMAGUMMA FORZA ZUMA! is about having the right mixture of mojo needed to make it through a metamorphosis. This collection of new works features pieces by Jessica Farr, Elena Maria Garcia, Theo Reyna, Deborah L. Sherman, Andres Solorzano, Paul Tei, and Kristina Wong as well as new films by Molly Gandour, George Schiavone and Matt Corey, Karelle Levy and Michael Landsberg, Wet Sock Ensemble (Erik Fabregat, Ralph de la Portilla and Ted Chambers), and Darin Gray of the band On Fillmore.

MAD CAT THEATRE COMPANY is pleased to present its second annual Nine Lives Scholarship Awards to Christian Frost (Outstanding High School Senior) and Vanessa Elise (Outstanding College Senior). Each recipient will be awarded a $500 scholarship and presented a commemorative plaque which will be presented on opening night of Mad Cat's next play Blow Me by Jessica Farr at the SandBox at the Miami Theater Center on August 16, 2013.

Mad Cat is pleased to now call Miami Theater Center (MTC) home! Up next will be the world premiere 'Blow Me' by Jessica Farr and directed by Paul Tei which will open August 16, 2013 for a three-week run in MTC's 50-seat SandBox space, located at 9816 NE 2nd Avenue in Miami Shores.
