Created in 2010, CABARET FOR A CAUSE brings together young performers from Broadway, film, and television to make a difference and change the lives of young people in need. Attention Dance Moms and Broadway Kids Fans! Cabaret for a Cause will present a one-night-only concert Aug. 11 at Brooklyn's Galapagos Arts Space to benefit kef productions and their education program, Story Shifters.

Just last night, May 12, Tiffany Schleigh presented Cabaret for a Cause, a one-night-only event to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The speial event was held at Galapagos Art Space and was dedicated to Shannon Tavarez (The Lion King) (January 20, 1999-November 1, 2010). After a sold-out first edition, Broadway's best writers and performers teamed together again to help raise funds for children with special needs in New York City and around the world. Victor Legra, Anthony Crouchelli & M.O.V.E for Autism presented 'Putting the Pieces Together: Volume 2' featuring the music of Carner and Gregor, Rosser and Sohne, Maglione and Ruiz, Joey Contreras, Justin Anthony Long, Jonathan Lee & Joanna Burns; David Dabbon, and Will Van Dyke. The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Andrew Levine, Executive Director) honored legendary Broadway and film composer Alan Menken with the Oscar Hammerstein Award for Lifetime Achievement in Musical Theatre at the 22nd Oscar Hammerstein Award Gala last night, December 9, 2013. The dazzling new musical revue utilizes the writing talents of Charnin, Ronny Graham, Marvin Hamlisch, Douglas Bernstein, Dennis Markell, Abbott and Weeks, Weeden, Finkle and Fay, Kaufman and Krane and many others. Performed by four young, bright, stars-to-be, this is 75 minutes of new and evergreen sophisticated musical hilarity, sure to be a major Fall happening.
