Jack Garfein Will Chat SOMETHING WILD Film, Acting Techniques and More at The Drama Book Shop

The Drama Book Shop will welcome internationally-renowned director and acting teacher, Jack Garfein, to speak about his groundbreaking, psychologically complex film, Something Wild, his book, Life and Acting: Techniques for the Actor and his world-famous Master Classes on acting technique now given at his newly opened Jack Garfein Studio in the Theater District.

New Repertory Theatre to Stage Month-Long Festival of New Works by Joshua Sobol

New Repertory Theatre in collaboration with Boston Center for American Performance, Boston University, Israeli Stage, and Greensboro Arts Alliance & Residency/Mirror Theater will present several of playwright Joshua Sobol's works during the month of March and April, as well as a conversation with Mr. Sobol interviewed by WBUR's ARTery Editor Ed Siegel on Sunday, March 26, 7:30pm at the Mosesian Center for the Arts.

New Works by SIGNIFICANT OTHER Playwright and More Slated for Roundabout's 2017-18 Off-Broadway Season

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced a line-up of all new work Off-Broadway, including two Roundabout commissions by Roundabout Underground alumni Lindsey Ferrentino (Ugly Lies the Bone) and Joshua Harmon (Bad Jews, Significant Other). As part of the Underground's mission, each participating playwright receives a commission for a new play, demonstrating a level of commitment to writers' careers and the future of theatre in New York that is unparalleled.

League of Professional Theatre Women to Host Interview with Laura Linney

The League of Professional Theatre Women,  is pleased that three-time Academy Award and three-time Tony Award nominee, LAURA LINNEY will sit down with JAMES NAUGHTON to discuss her extensive body of work in theatre, film and TV. The event will take place on Monday, March 6 at 6:00 PM in the Bruno Walter Auditorium of the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts on 65th Street & Amsterdam Avenue. Admission is free, but seats will be on a first-come-first-seated basis.

Page 73 Productions (Page 73) has named John J. Caswell Jr. the 2017 P73 Playwriting Fellow. Selected from over 400 applicants, Caswell will receive a $10,000 award and additional $10,000 budgeted for developing several new plays over the course of the year.

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that theatre, television and film director, producer and writer Jeffrey Hayden died peacefully after a year of cancer treatment on Saturday, December 24, 2016, at his home in Los Angeles surrounded by his loving family. He was 90 years old.
