Start spreadin' the news! The ninth annual Jimmy Award winners were announced yesterday at the Minskoff Theatre. This year's finalists included: Sam Primack, Nathan Keffer, Antonio Cipriano, Jasmine Rogers, Hatty King, Maggie Gidden and winners Sofia Deler and Tony Moreno. The ninth annual JIMMY AWARDS will be held tonight, June 26th at 7:30PM at the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway. 74 high school students from across America will compete for the Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actor and Actress. THE JIMMY AWARDS has announced the industry coaches for the ninth annual awards ceremony on Monday, June 26th at 7:30PM at the Minskoff Theatre, 200 West 45th Street in Manhattan.

You can take the boy out of Utah, but can you ever take the Utah out of the boy? Who knows, but a couple weeks back at Broadway Sessions, we did learn that you can bring the Utah to the boy. Full disclosure: I, Ben Cameron, grew up in the great red state of Utah, just a mile or two from Brigham Young University. So, although you may not have known, I have known for years just how sensational the training is in the BYU Music/Dance/Theatre program. Training so goodie resulted in starry careers for alumni Paul Canaan (Kinky Boots, Legally Blonde), Alicia Shumway (The King and I), Zach Hess (The Book of Mormon), Michael Milkanin (Kinky Boots), Becca Petersen (Bandstand) and more. Check them out in action alongside the extremely talented '17 graduating MDT class. 

This Thursday night, May 4th, Broadway Sessions welcomes the '17 graduating Music Dance Theatre class from BYU alongside Broadway alumni.

Just last night, Cyndi Lauper was on hand to welcome the audience to TDF's one-night-only concert fundraiser, TDF HONORS Kinky Boots. The show featured the entire current Broadway cast and former cast members of the Tony Award-winning Best Musical. Original stars, Billy Porter ('Lola'), Annaleigh Ashford ('Lauren') and Stark Sands ('Charlie').

The winners of the eighth annual NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL THEATRE AWARDS (NHSMTA)/JIMMY AWARDS were determined and announced just last week, at the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway. This one-of-a-kind-event was hosted by Tony Award®-nominee Zachary Levi, currently starring on Broadway in Roundabout Theatre Company's She Loves Me at Studio 54.

TAKE IT FROM THE TOP is a series of exciting, interactive workshops offered through MSU Federal Credit Union Institute for Arts & Creativity at Wharton Center. Participants - from pre-teens to young adults and beyond - receive a unique opportunity to train with a brilliant team of leading Broadway professionals. Former instructors include such talented Broadway performers as 2014 Tony Award® winner for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical, Billy Porter, who played Lola in Broadway's Kinky Boots, and Shoshana Bean, who played Elphaba in Wicked.

?Dr. Phillips Center Florida Hospital School of the Arts announces a first-class roster of theater professionals set to instruct the "Take it from the Top" summer camp workshop alongside the program's creator and Broadway veteran Paul Canaan (Kinky Boots, Legally Blonde, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Miss Saigon). The list of teaching artists includes Alysha Umphress (On the Town, American Idiot, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever), Astaire Award nominee Nick Adams (Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Wicked, La Cage Aux Folles), director/choreographer and performer Carlos Encinias (Gateway Playhouse, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera), director/choreographer Connor Gallagher (Disney's Tangled, Goodspeed Opera House, Bucks County Playhouse) and casting director Justin Huff, CSA of Telsey + Company. 

The Dr. Phillips Center Florida Hospital School of the Arts announces the continuation of its award-winning programing and corresponding summer schedule of week-long camps and workshops, taking place at the venue between June and August 2016.
