This exciting series of one-night-only events and expanded audience engagement programming will explore the ideas and themes presented on The Public Theater's stages. Highlights of the upcoming Forum season include a look at 50 years of New York's vibrant downtown culture scene, a conversation on justice in Shakespeare's Measure for Measure with Elevator Repair Service, a celebration of 50 years of the Fortune Society's work with the incarcerated, and the fifth annual Public Forum Christmas reading of Thornton Wilder's classic one-act The Long Christmas Dinner.

Single Tickets Now On Sale for The Public Theater's 2017-18 Fall Season

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced that single tickets are available now for The Public's Astor Anniversary Season at their landmark downtown home on Lafayette Street. Celebrating 50 years of new work at 425 Lafayette Street and the 50th Anniversary of HAIR, the season will include a new production from Elevator Repair Service, new plays by Luis Alfaro and Julia Cho, and an encore engagement of Nia Vardalos' acclaimed show Tiny Beautiful Things. The Department of Theater at Brooklyn College is one of New York City's outstanding institutions in the training of theater artists. With the assistance of a generous grant from the Tow Foundation, the Department of Theater in conjunction with the MFA Playwriting Program, headed by co-coordinators Mac Wellman and Erin Courtney, will present the annual Weasel Festival, hosted by The Public Theater.

The Public Theater's A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM to Alight at the Delacorte Next Week

A friendly reminder! The Public Theater will begin previews for the second Free Shakespeare in the Park production of the season, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, today, July 11. Directed by Obie Award winner and The Public's Founder of Public Works and Resident Director Lear deBessonet, and choreography by Chase Brock, the show will run through Sunday, August 13 and officially open on Monday, July 31.
