Today, June 20th, 2015, Brooklyn-based art collective THE CCD ART & SUPPLY CO. will hold their fourth group art show at Irish Haven in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. The event, titled 'THE HBO SHOW', is a pop-culture themed gallery-styled art show celebrating the original programming of cable television network HBO.

The inaugural 2015 St Albans Writers' Festival, the newest writers' festival in Australia focusing on Australian authors and writing, will take place from Friday 18 September to Sunday 20 September in the rural setting of historic St Albans Village, located in the beautiful Hawkesbury River area less than two hours drive from Sydney.

American Broadway touring vet Alan Mingo Jr. stars as Lola - the role originated by Billy Porter in the Broadway production - in Toronto's KINKY BOOTS, while Graham Scott Fleming plays Charlie Price, the young man who inherits a shoe factory from his father, only to learn it isn't financially stable.

Baltimore, Md. (March 23, 2015) - For the conclusion of the 2014-2015 season, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) and Music Director Marin Alsop lead the BSO premiere of Leonard Bernstein's comedic operetta Candide tonight, June 11 at the Music Center at Strathmore, and June 12 through June 14 at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. The BSO announced today that the semi-staged production of Candide will be directed by Garnett Bruce and features an all-star cast including Peter Sagal, the host of NPR's weekly current events quiz show "Wait Wait…Don't Tell Me," and Judy Kaye, Tony Award-winning star of The Phantom of the Opera. Rounding out the cast are Keith Jameson, Lauren Snouffer, Joshua Hopkins, Mark Diamond, Marie Lenormand, Stephanie Sadownik, Curtis Bannister, Patrick Cook, Andrew McLaughlin, Melissa Wimbish and Lewis Shaw.

Lead producers Daryl Roth, Hal Luftig and David Mirvish present the Canadian premiere production of Broadway's Kinky Boots, the smash-hit musical that brings together four-time Tony® Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy® Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Tony Award-winner for Best Score for Kinky Boots). Patrick Cook, director of the Musical Theatre Workshop, is also producing.

Last weekend, August 22-25, 2013, the Dramatists Guild of America held its second ever national conference in Chicago, at the Hilton Chicago on South Michigan Avenue. The Dramatists Guild is the professional association of playwrights, librettists, lyricists and composers writing for the stage. And with almost 7,000 members, that's a lot of creative energy!
