THE 39 STEPS, VIOLET and More Set for Actors Co-op's 2017-18 Season

Actors Co-Op (Ovation Winner 2014 Best Production of a Musical (Intimate Theatre) has announced its 26th Season of shows! Opening with Patrick Barlow's great piece of theatrical fun, based on the mystery thriller revised as a farce THE 39 STEPS; followed by the beloved Kaufman and Hart comedy classic THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER. In 2018 we will take A WALK IN THE WOODS by Lee Blessing; followed by Robert Bolts' 'must see' historical drama A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS; the 2017 - 2018 Season closes with the multi-award winning powerhouse musical VIOLET, book and lyrics Brian Crawley, music by Jeanine Tesori.

SRO Theatre Company Closes Season with THE 39 STEPS

SRO Theatre Company's 2016-2017 season will conclude with the Tony Award winning comedy The 39 Steps. This fast-paced whodunit, adapted by Patrick Barlow from the 1915 novel by John Buchan and the 1935 film by Alfred Hitchcock, is a riotous blend of virtuoso performances and wildly inventive stagecraft.

BWW Review: Village's THE 39 STEPS Packed with Laughs but Lacks Pace

If you've ever seen Patrick Barlow's brilliant stage adaptation of the Hitchcock film "The 39 Steps" you know what a fast paced thrill ride it is. When I saw the Broadway touring production I thought I was going to pass out from laughter. Which is why I was a little let down by the current production at Village Theatre that still had some great laughs but not always that lightning fast pace that the show demands.

Santa Cruz Shakespeare Hits Fundraising Goal for New Outdoor Home

Santa Cruz Shakespeare has announced that it has completed its fundraising goal of $1.37 million for its new outdoor home in DeLaveaga Park: the Audrey Stanley Grove. The Grove's construction was funded with pledges and one-time donations from over 950 households in the Santa Cruz community and beyond.
