Just last week, Feinstein's/54 Below welcomed Norm Lewis for his holiday engagement- 'Norm Lewis Wishes You a Swingin' Christmas.' The all-new show featured Lewis putting his mark on holiday classics, plus some of the songs that Lewis is best known for, and some surprises you would never expect to hear him sing. Norm Lewis finished his Feinstein's/54Below 5 night run last night, on Christmas Eve. Norm's show, NORM LEWIS WISHES YOU A SWINGIN' CHRISTMAS, played to packed houses and the venue had an amazing week, with Michael Feinstein also making his debut at the newly namesaked club, doing the 7:00 P.M. shows and Norm conquering the 9:30 slot. By the way, Mr. Feinstein plays through the 30th, while Norm enjoys his Christmas Holiday and then can find him at the Smith Center in Las Vegas, on New Year's Eve with friends Patina Miller, Capathia Jenkins, Eric Bergen and Clint Holmes.

The new Broadway revival of THE COLOR PURPLE opened just last night, December 10, at theBernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 W 45th Street). Grammy, Academy Award, and Golden Globe award winner Jennifer Hudson makes her Broadway debut opposite Cynthia Erivo, the breakout star of John Doyle's acclaimed Menier Chocolate Factory production, and Orange is the New Black's Danielle Brooks, in the highly anticipated production of The Color Purple. Based on the smash hit 2003 film of the same title, School of Rock: THE MUSICAL, with music from the movie, as well as an original score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Glenn Slater, a book byJulian Fellowes and direction by Laurence Connor, made its World Premiere on Broadway last night, December 6, at the Winter Garden Theatre. W New York - Times Square announced today the launch of Ultimate Encore, a short film written and directed by Alan Cumming, in celebration of the newly renovated Living Room, the brand's signature, see-and-be-seen spin on the hotel lobby. Through the film, Cumming captures the energetic and dramatic designs of the new space, while celebrating its location in the heart of Times Square. Ultimate Encore will also raise money and awareness for pet charity, Broadway Barks, with proceeds from the items featured in the film being donated to the great cause. The Drama Book Shop will host celebrate the launch of Theatre World's 69th Volume - the only record of the American theatre season still in print. A book launch, signing, and panel discussion with the editors on 'Theatre Print Media in the Age of the Internet' will be held at the Tony Award winning Book Shop on Friday, December 4, 2015, from 5-7p.m. It is free and open to the public.
