The Pasadena Playhouse presents, in association with South Coat Repertory, Matthew Lopez's multi-award winning play THE WHIPPING MAN as the fourth production of the 2014-2015 season. THE WHIPPING plays through March 1, 2015 at The Pasadena Playhouse. Stage and television star Charlie Robinson (NBC's 'Night Court') plays Simon in this Obie Award-winning drama. The Pasadena Playhouse (Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director and Elizabeth Doran, Executive Director), celebrates "Pasadena Day" with a performance of Vanessa Claire Stewart's STONEFACE, the fifth production of the 2013-2014 season.

Vanessa Claire Stewart's Stoneface, the Rise and Fall and Rise of Buster Keaton, first produced at Sacred Fools Theatre Company in 2012, finds fresh life in a newly remounted production simply titled STONEFACE at Pasadena Playhouse. With a bigger budget, more space in which to play, and clearly enhanced with an eye to continuing its life beyond Los Angeles, it should be set for a rousing success.

SCI-FEST, the 1st Annual Los Angeles Science Fiction One-Act Play Festival premieres at The ACME Theatre (135 N. La Brea Avenue) featuring two different, riveting evenings ('A' and 'B' rotating weekly) of new and classic sci fi works. Evening 'A' premieres tonight, May 6. Evening 'B' premieres Tuesday, May 13. Performances will run Tuesdays - Saturdays @ 8 PM; Sundays at 3 PM through June 1, 2014.

The Pasadena Playhouse, announced today the full cast of Vanessa Claire Stewart's STONEFACE, the fifth production of the 2013-2014 season. STONEFACE is performed June 3 to 29, 2014; the press opening is Sunday, June 8.

Theatre of NOTE completes its 2013 season with the West Coast premiere of THE INVISIBLE PLAY written by Alex Dremann and directed by Amanda Weier. THE INVISIBLE PLAY will preview Friday, November 22nd and Saturday, November 23rd, and will open on Friday, December 6th at 8pm and run through Saturday, December 21st at Theatre of NOTE, 1517 N. Cahuenga Blvd (just north of Sunset) in Hollywood.

When Michael Shaw Fisher walks out to introduce EXORCISTIC: The Rock Musical Parody Experiment at its Fringe Mainstage home, it takes a few minutes before you realize that the musical has actually begun.

The third annual Hollywood Fringe Festival, Hollywood's fearless celebration of the emerging arts is back June 13 - 30, 2013, and over the next couple of weeks I'll be featuring some of the musical productions hoping to entice audiences to see their latest work. First up are Michael Shaw Fisher and Exorcistic: The Rock Musical Parody Experiment, and Andrew Potter's The Road to High Street.
