For two glittering weekends at the end of May, the world turns its attention to the movie event of the year: TheCaan Film Festival at Museum of the Moving Image. In celebration of the Bronx-born, Sunnyside-raised, and Sanford Meisner-instructed actor, the film series revisits twelve of James Caan's greatest performances, from May 19 through 28, with nearly all films presented in 35mm. The films feature performances for such great directors as Francis Ford Coppola, Howard Hawks, Michael Mann, Sam Peckinpah, Mark Rydell, Norman Jewison, Wes Anderson, and James Gray.

Nate Holden Performing Arts Center 50th Anniversary Gala honors the legacy of ICCC's founder, C. Bernard Johnson (also known as Jack). ICCC provided a platform for many residents and those who came to Los Angeles to pursue their dreams and aspirations.

Omaha Performing Arts presents Cox Music & Movies, featuring The Karate Kid and the retro pop ukulele sounds of Omaha band All Young Girls Are Machine Guns. This summer's first free Cox Music & Movies event will be held on Friday, June 22 in the Courtyard of the Holland Performing Arts Center. Music begins at 7:45 p.m. followed by the movie at dusk, or approximately 8:45 p.m.
