Smart, dark, and bewitching, this bloody deconstruction of Red Riding Hood takes on werewolves, teen lust, and high school bullies. An intense, captivating piece, In the Forest She Grew Fangs will open the 2016-17 Young Professionals Company season on October 28th. The Young Professionals (YPs) are theater students ages 14 and up who seek advanced training with Oregon Children's Theatre (OCT) and produce three studio shows throughout the season.

Lost Nation Theater opened a high-energy production of the musical HAIRSPRAY last week at Montpelier's City Hall Arts Center. With music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman, and book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan, HAIRSPRAY opened on Broadway in 2002 and went on to win eight Tony Awards.

"You think you know me, but you don't." An unsubstantiated rumor about two close friends, Matt and Luke, ignites the action in this account of how complicated it is to be a teenager today. Rumors of one person's sexuality compounds more rumors about other students-as the humor and turmoil of high school play out on a single wrestling mat. The action is overseen by the Referee, who officiates with hand signals and commands. Using images, movement, and sound, each individual's stories are interwoven to create a theatrical event that challenges and reveals their search for identity in a world that keeps shifting underneath them.
