Soul-rock, Austin-based musician Jonathon Zemek premieres the new single 'Death of Me' from the multimedia project 'Hillcrest' today with Glide Magazine. The premiere can be found here. 'Death of Me' is the second single off 'Hillcrest,' and features Matt Smith, the album's producer, on vocals. 'Hillcrest' is a rock opera with an accompanying comic book depicting a fictional coming of age story penned by Zemek and Smith. The project will be released Sept. 21, 2018, premiering at the Wizard World Austin pop culture convention (taking place Sept. 21-23 and located at the Austin Convention Center). At Wizard World Austin, people can meet Zemek and see and purchase the comic book as well as the album. 'Hillcrest' features Guy Forsyth, Malford Milligan, Matt Smith, Andrea Lindzeyand Roderick Sanford who lend their voices to characters in the story of 'Hillcrest,' while the book is illustrated by local street artist Chris Rogers. More artists have been announced to perform at the Chillin' on the Lucie music festival in Port St. Lucie, Fla., Oct. 3 - 7. Uncle Kracker has joined the roster, as well as Cassadee Pope, Parmalee, Josh Gracin, Clare Dunn, Kalie Shorr, Hudson Moore and Lewis Brice.
