2010 Huntington Playwriting Fellows Announced

Huntington Theatre Company announces the 2010 class of Huntington Playwriting Fellows: Rosanna Yamagiwa Alfaro, Miranda Craigwell, Lawrence Goodman, and Masha Obolensky.

Pan Asian Rep Launches 34th Season With WE ARE, FALLING LEAVES et al., 10/16

Tisa Chang, Artistic Producing Director announces that Pan Asian Repertory Theatre will launch their 34th season with readings of three new plays by women playwrights representing voices from Vietnam, Chinese America and Hawaii: WE ARE (Oct 16 at 7:00pm) by Nguyen thi Minh Ngoc; FALLING LEAVES (Nov 12 at 7:00pm and 13 at 3:00pm) by Adeline Yen Mah; and AIR AND ANGELS (Dec 2 and 3 at 7:00pm) by Anne Noelani Miyamoto. All readings are open to the public with a suggested $10 donation, and are held at ART/New York spaces, 520 8th Ave, 3rd Floor. Asian American Arts Alliance Honors Tisa Chang

The Asian American Arts Alliance (a4) will host its 28th Anniversary Benefit Gala: Defining Moments on November 3rd at CUE Art Foundation in New York City. Showcasing a4's work on behalf of Asian American artists and arts groups, the gala is also a time to toast the contributions of extraordinary individuals in the arts.

East West Players' 45th Season Presents MYSTERIOUS SKIN 9/15

East West Players (EWP), the nation's premier Asian American theatre, opens its 45th Anniversary season, themed Shake It Up, with the Los Angeles premiere of MYSTERIOUS SKIN by Prince Gomolvilas, based on the novel by Scott Heim. This production will be directed by EWP's Producing Artistic Director, Tim Dang. The cast of the production will feature artists with diverse backgrounds: David Huynh, Scott Keiji Takeda, Marcus Choi, Christine Corpuz, Ruffy Landayan, and Elizabeth Liang.

CAP21 Presents THE USHER'S BALL 5/6

On May 6th, CAP21 (Collaborative Arts Project 21) will transform its block box theater 'The Shop' into Europe during WWI, the backdrop for Fengar Gael's 'The Usher's Ball'. The play will have a month long run in May, as part of CAP21's Spring/Summer season.

Tisa Chang, Artistic Producing Director of Pan Asian Repertory Theatre continues its 33rd season with CHING CHONG CHINAMAN, a satirical new comedy by Lauren Yee directed by May Adrales. The limited engagement runs April 11, 2010 at the West End Theatre. Recently, Mayor David Dinkins and his wife Joyce took in a production, and visited the cast backstage.

The limited engagement plays March 19 - April 11, 2010 at the West End Theatre (263 W. 86th Street between Broadway & West End Avenue in the Church of St. Paul & St. Andrew, 2nd floor). Opening night is Wednesday, March 24, at 7:30 p.m.
