It unfolds as a play within a play with a decidedly modern vibe, bringing the audience into the action. The show transforms York University's Sandra Faire & Ivan Fecan Theatre into the Lincoln Fields Correctional Institute, where visitors are subjected to 21st century surveillance measures to witness the 'inmates' performing within. The Wetumpka Depot Players are wrapping up their 32nd season with a sold out run world premiere of Pamela Parker's play A Very Second Samuel Christmas. Due to audience demand, one additional performance has been added on December 16 at 7:30pm.

The Wetumpka Depot Players are wrapping up their 32nd season with the world premiere of Pamela Parker's play A Very Second Samuel Christmas. The occasion will be a Christmas miracle of sorts as Parker resisted writing a Second Samuel sequel for many years. "People have asked me to write a Christmas play featuring the characters of Second Samuel, but I told them it would never happen. Then the folks at the Wetumpka Depot asked. Who could say no to them?" said Parker referring to the Wetumpka troupe who traveled Second Samuel to a nationwide theatre festival in 2011.
