Sutton Foster Adds Additional Performances at Cafe Carlyle

Two-time Tony-winning actress, singer and dancer Sutton Foster extends her Cafe Carlyle run, June 25-29. She'll also be performing June 11-22. At Cafe Carlyle, she'll perform Broadway favorites and original recordings, focusing on selections from her new album, Take Me to the World, and stories of how being a mother of a two-year-old has informed her work and changed her life.

Last night (April 12, 2019), the cast and crew of MAGIC MIKE LIVE Las Vegas celebrated two years and 1,000 performances at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. During the 10 p.m. performance's high-energy finale, the evening's emcee, Chelsea Phillips-Reid, was met with a roaring ovation after sharing with the audience that they were in attendance of the sizzling productions' 1,000th show and asked them to stick around to celebrate. After a steamy encore, the entire cast and members of the creative team gathered onstage while the room's servers passed champagne to each of-age guest and, after a few remarks recognizing the show's achievements thus far and the fanbase that's made it all possible, the room raised their glasses to the production's bright future ahead.

PTC Presents Reading Of THE WAY NORTH By Tira Palmquist

Pioneer Theatre Company rounds out the sixth season of Play-by-Play's New Play Reading Series with The Way North by playwright, Tira Palmquist. The readings will take place at the Babcock Theatre in the lower level of the Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre on Friday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE FUGLY Comes to The Drama Factory

After two sold-out seasons in Cape Town, The Good, The Bad and The Fugly is headed for their first ever performances in Somerset West. Inspired by true South African stories that seem too ridiculous to be true, The Good, The Bad and The Fugly is a musical comedy which explores social interactions behind the safety of our screens. Three women, three social media accounts and three times the drama. A tongue-in-cheek musical comedy exposing all the hilarious consequences of online personas, strong opinions and bad behaviour. This production showcases the good, the bad and the downright ugly and gives us all an opportunity to laugh at ourselves. Jenn Colella and Charles Shaughnessy to Lead PETER PAN at Pittsburgh CLO

Pittsburgh CLO's 2019 Summer Season will be highlighted by stand-out performances from Broadway's best and distinguished stars of film and television, including Jenn Colella, star of Tony-winning Come From Away, Charles Shaughnessy, best known as Maxwell Sheffield on TV's The Nanny and Ace Young of American Idol fame.

CSUF's LYSISTRATA Opens This Friday

"Lysistrata" tells the story of the legendary Athenian, Lysistrata, who calls upon the women of Greece to help put an end to the Peloponnesian War. In order to do so, all women must refuse to have sex with their husbands until they agree to peace in Greece. Inspired by Aristophanes and adapted by Ellen McLaughlin, "Lysistrata" is directed by award-winning actor/director Rufus Bonds Jr., and runs from April 12-May 5, 2019 in the Hallberg Theatre on campus.

TVC is Bringing Visibility To Trans Performers to The Duplex

New York City's premier cabaret highlighting the talents of transgender, nonbinary, and gender non-conforming performers returns to The Duplex with the all new show, 'Make 'Em Laugh', for it's 8th performance at The Duplex on Saturday, April 27th at 6:30pm. The show is directed by Donnie Cianciotto, with Musical Direction by Anessa Marie. Cianciotto will also serve as the emcee for the evening.

Disney+ Signs Multi-Year Production Agreement with Supper Club

Disney+ has inked a two-year deal with David Gelb (“Chef's Table,” “Jiro Dreams of Sushi”), Brian McGinn (“Chef's Table,” “Amanda Knox”) and Jason Sterman (“13th,” “Five Came Back”) of Supper Club. Under the exclusive pact, the trio will create premium franchise-based and original-concept nonfiction programming for the streaming service as well as other platforms and networks within The Walt Disney Company.

The Wallis and Brooklyn's National Sawdust Projects Present Forward Music Project 1.0 & 2.0

The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts and National Sawdust Projects, the producing arm of Brooklyn's acclaimed National Sawdust, present back-to-back evenings of two versions of Forward Music Project, a gripping multi-media program of stylistically contrasting commissions for solo cello and electronics by 12 of today's most forward-thinking female composers conceived and performed by cellist Amanda Gookin to encourage social change and women's empowerment. Forward Music Project 1.0, opens the two-night series on Thursday, May 30, 8:00 pm, and includes works by Angélica Negrón, Nathalie Joachim, Leila Adu, Jessica Meyer, Allison Loggins-Hull, Amanda Feery and Morgan Krauss. Forward Music Project 2.0: in this skin, set for Friday, May 31, 2019, 8:00 pm, features music by Paola Prestini, Niloufar Nourbakhsh, Shelley Washington, Alex Temple and Kamala Sankaram. Held at The Wallis' Lovelace Studio Theater, both programs feature a visceral experience of music, light and stories that explore a range of issues facing women today, from the LGBTQ+ to reproductive rights, sexual violence and empowerment. The works are performed through the lens of solo cello, electronics, and projection art by S Katy Tucker and audio interludes from the composers.
