Take Wing And Soar Productions, in partnership with Voza Rivers/New Heritage Theatre Group, present TWAS' Tenth Year Anniversary Season main stage production of Oscar Wilde's celebrated comedy, THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, directed by Kevin Connell for a limited run at the Poet's Den Theater, from June 14th through 30th, 2013.

Popular for over 200 years, Goldsmiths comic romp is a tasty stew of mistaken identities, social sabotage and happy endings. Convinced that his hosts are lower class buffoons and the love of his life is a barmaid, a young gentleman nearly ends up as one of the have-nots in this much-loved classic. Wit and warmth are brought to life in Oliver Goldsmiths eighteenth century comedy, She Stoops to Conquer, presented by Deep Dish Theater Company now through November 17. Directed by Tony Lea, this chuckler continues the company's twelfth season at University Mall. Get a first look at the show in the photos below!

No one writes a finely-crafted comedy like the British playwrights of the Restoration and 18th Century. Oliver Goldsmith's 1773 She Stoops to Conquer, the current production at Chapel Hill's Deep Dish Theater Company, is certainly no exception. It is the perfect balance of deception and misunderstanding. The best thing about it is that all of the storylines do not unravel at once, and the truth is revealed slowly, making the comic suspense all the more wonderful.

A new Chekhov-inspired play by Christopher Durang, an Edward Albee classic, and one of Shakespeare's late romances directed by Rebecca Taichman will be produced at McCarter Theatre Center during the 2012-2013 season.

SHE STOOPS TO CONQUER unjustly substitutes overacting for laughs, and to poor effect. While there are some strong performances that are worth seeing, this production will probably not be remembered as one of The City Theatre's strongest.

The Irvine Barclay Theatre in Association with Arts Orange County will present a live screening of the National Theatre in London's She Stoops to Conquer on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 7:15pm. The stage performance of Oliver Goldsmith's She Stoops to Conquer is recorded in front of a live audience at the National Theatre in London and will be presented at Irvine Barclay Theatre in high definition.

A new Chekhov-inspired play by Christopher Durang, an Edward Albee classic, and one of Shakespeare's late romances directed by Rebecca Taichman will be produced at McCarter Theatre Center during the 2012-2013 season. Two more productions will be announced at a later date.

National Theatre Live continues its third season with Oliver Goldsmith's SHE STOOPS TO CONQUER.

Bringing the best of British theatre to cinemas across the U.S. this fall, NCM Fathom will present a series of events from the stage of the National Theatre of Great Britain. All events will begin at 7:00 p.m. local time. Presented by NT Live, BY Experience and Fathom, the four-part in-theater series will be broadcast to more than 130 additional U.S. movie theaters nationwide through NCM's exclusive Digital Broadcast Network.

Highlights of the forthcoming productions at the National Theatre, announced today by Nicholas Hytner, include new plays by Alan Bennett, Stephen Beresford, Lisa D'Amour, James Graham and Lucy Prebble. There will be adaptations of Mark Haddon's The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Simon Stephens, and of The Count of Monte Cristo by Richard Bean. Enda Walsh's Misterman receives its London premiere; classic revivals include Polly Findlay's production of Sophocles' Antigone, Shakespeare's Timon of Athens directed by Nicholas Hytner, Bijan Sheibani's staging of Damned for Despair by Tirso de Molina, and Nadia Fall's production of Bernard Shaw's The Doctor's Dilemma.

In addition to the previously scheduled broadcasts of The Comedy of Errors (March 1), the season will include Travelling Light (February 9) and She Stoops to Conquer (March 29). Since its first season, which began in June 2009 with the acclaimed production of Phédre starring Helen Mirren, over half a million people have now experienced the National's acclaimed work on movie screens around the world. Amphibian Stage Productions present two new National Theatre Live screenings in association with the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. In addition to The Comedy of Errors on Thursday, March 29, Amphibian will also present screenings of Travelling Light on Thursday, February 23 and She Stoops to Conquer on Thursday, April 11. Screenings take place at 2 PM and 7 PM at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
