Murder! Intrigue! Espresso! Baristas, a dark comedy written by Evan Twohy, will open up shop for a World Premiere at the New York International Fringe Festival. The production runs for 5 performances at The Kraine Theater, 85 East 4th Street on August 15 at 2pm, August 18 at 9 pm, August 19 at 11pm, August 25 at 2pm, and August 28 at 7pm.

Susan Messing will be visiting PHIT for one weekend only August 6-8th, and we couldn't be more excited. As a graduate from Northwestern University a former performer on The Second City mainstage and an ensemble member of Annoyance Theatre she has one of the most extensive resumes in the country. Her essays have been published in The Second City Almanac of Improvisation and in Charna Halpern's book, Art By Committee, and she has performed on NBC's Late Friday, Comedy Central's Premium Blend along with her puppet Jolly, and showcased at the HBO/US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen.

Northwestern University has added a revised version of YOU'RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN to their Summer Music Theatre Festival. CHARLIE BROWN will be performed July 1 through August 8.
As previously announced a musical tribute to Tony Award-winning composer Stephen Schwartz will be performed with vocalists Capathia Jenkins ('Caroline, Or Change') and Shoshana Bean ('Wicked'), Tony-nominated composer and lyricist Craig Carnelia, Grammy Award-nominated composer and lyricist Andrew Lippa, and Grammy Award-winning Nashville singer and songwriter Lari White.

For the fifth year, the weeklong Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project returns to the Theatre and Interpretation Center (TIC) at Northwestern University to celebrate America's acclaimed and emerging songwriters and singers. Presented by The Johnny Mercer Foundation and the American Music Theatre Project (AMTP) at Northwestern University, this year's project will conclude with three special events, including the star-studded, one-night-only concert 'A Celebration of Stephen Schwartz' (Aug. 7), which will honor the Tony Award-nominated composer ('Wicked,' 'Pippen,' 'Godspell') for his mentorship of young songwriters in the tradition of the legendary Johnny Mercer.
