Chicago Dramatists and About Face Theatre are proud to co-produce the world premiere of THE KID THING by Chicago Dramatists Resident Playwright and About Face Theatre Artistic Associate Sarah Gubbins. Directed by Joanie Schultz, THE KID THING will preview September 1st, open September 9th and 10th and run through October 16th at Chicago Dramatists, 1105 W. Chicago Ave. Recently, the Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, has named THE KID THING as one of 19 theatre recipients of the second round of The Edgerton Foundation New American Play Awards for 2011. The prestigious grant will fund the extension of the development and rehearsal period of the new play.

In a special limited engagement, Signature Theatre is presenting the Washington D.C. premiere of E. Patrick Johnson's one-man show, Sweet Tea: Black Gay Men of the South.

Bill Norrett/Cyrano Players, Inc will present the World Premiere of Kithless in Paradise, written by Molly Moroney, directed by Niki Flacks at The Lion Theatre (410 West 42nd Street).

William Leavengood's SPECIAL will play Off Broadway at Theatre Row Studio Theatre, 410 West 42nd Street, beginning September 15 through October 2. Elissa Middleton stars; Cat Miller directs.

The Dramatists Guild of America will host their second annual Dramatists Guild Chicago Intensive Four-Day Fellowship Program. The event will take place from September 12-15 at Northwestern University.

The hit series is back in September with three more stars of Broadway. Created by Joseph Macchia this monthly series features some of the most talented Broadway performers as well as some future Broadway stars.
