Dorothy Berwin, Mark Lee and Tom Kirdahy are pleased to announce the third winners of the Berwin Lee Playwrights Award. The Berwin Lee Award was created to foster and promote the craft of playwriting in both the United States and the United Kingdom and to encourage the writing and production of plays.
Leon Lopez has had an unusual career trajectory, from pop group A:M and TV soaps like Brookside and EastEnders to musical theatre (including Rent and We Will Rock You) and directing independent films. He's currently working with the RSC, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Swan Theatre with productions of plays that were performed there in 1986: The Two Noble Kinsmen, playing now, and The Rover, opening tomorrow.

After months of anticipation, the world premiere of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child finally begins previews at the Palace Theatre in the West End this week. The new play is a collaboration between Potter creator J.K. Rowling, playwright Jack Thorne and director John Tiffany, and stars Jamie Parker as Harry Potter, Poppy Miller as Ginny Potter, Sam Clemmett as Albus Potter, Paul Thornley as Ron Weasley, Noma Dumezweni as Hermione Granger, Cherrelle Skeete as Rose Granger-Weasley, Alex Price as Draco Malfoy, Anthony Boyle as Scorpius Malfoy.
