Artistic Director Robert Falls announces Goodman Theatre's new 2017/2018 Season, which builds on the theater's 40-year commitment to producing works that are representative of American society. In announcing the new season, Falls serves up a dynamic mix of works from culturally and aesthetically diverse playwrights-new plays and revisited classics that address the most significant issues facing the country today.

Following 13 Barrymore nominations and a sold-out run for Tommy and Me, Theatre Exile continues their 20th Anniversary Season with the Philadelphia premiere of Guards at the Taj by playwright Rajiv Joseph. Based on dark myths surrounding the building of the Taj Mahal, this bold and surprising comedy is the story of two hapless guards that ultimately learn the ugly truth about one of the most beautiful wonders of the world. When asked to perform an unthinkable task, the pair struggle between loyalty, friendship and staying true to one's self.

Matrix Theatre Teen Company members spent the summer working with renowned playwright Noah Haidle to independently write original plays. The plays will be presented as readings at a two evening showcase, Writers' Blocks, Friday, October 21 and Saturday, October 22, at 7:30 pm at Matrix Theatre Company. Matrix Theatre Company is located at 2730 Bagley in the heart of Detroit's Mexicantown. Ticket prices are $8 adults, $5 students and seniors. After a sold-out world premiere reading in May 2015, Barrymore Award-winning Theatre Exile plans to bring you a full-scale production of Tommy and Me by Ray Didinger. This autobiographical play recounts a seminal time in Ray Didinger's life as he helps his boyhood hero, Tommy McDonald, reach his goal of induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Matrix Theatre Company is delighted to announce an exciting special program, a playwriting intensive with award-winning playwright, Noah Haidle, running through the summer and fall of 2016. The Playwriting Intensive with Noah Haidle is for youth ages 14 – 18, and runs Mondays and Wednesdays 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, July 18 through October 22.

Bay Street Theater has announced the full cast and creative team for THE LAST NIGHT OF BALLYHOO, the Tony Award-winning play by Alfred Uhry, directed by Will Pomerantz. The production will run June 28 - July 24.

MCC Theater announced today that it will break ground on its first permanent home on March 22, 2016. Set to open in 2018, the space will unite MCC's diverse roster of programs under one roof for the first time in the company's three-decade history.
