Actors' Shakespeare Project continues its season-long exploration of 'Affairs of the Heart', examining the darker side of love as a catalyst for cruelty and redemption with Shakespeare's THE WINTER'S TALE. Actors' Shakespeare Project (ASP) today revealed new venues and  casting for the next two productions for the 2015/16 Season, Affairs of the Heart. The company's 12th season opened with the  tragedy in Othello, now playing until October 25 at The Modern Theatre at Suffolk University. Next ASP explores romance in The Winter's Tale, war and strife in Richard II, and comedy in The School for Scandal.  "ASP strives to present bold themes-the kind audiences not only expect, they demand of us," says Artistic Director Allyn Burrows. Imagine:  you're a peasant woman in 15th century France, and your teenage daughter has taken strange.  It seems she's having visions of St. Catherine, who's instructed her to lead the French army to victory over the invading English. In pants. And armor. Yep:  you call her Joanie, but we know her as Joan of Arc.

Last night, Shakespeare & Company presented the world premiere of Mother of the Maid, a powerful and wry drama by Emmy award-winning writer, producer and director Jane Anderson, starring Founding Artistic Director Tina Packer, directed by Matthew Penn, and Broadwayworld's Stephen Sorokoff was on the scene. Shakespeare & Company has finalized casting for its 38th performance season, and released a complete schedule of Opening Night dates. The announcement was made this week by Interim Artistic Directors Ariel Bock and Jonathan Croy, along with a positive report from Interim Managing Director Stephen D. Ball on the Company's box office successes to date. Shakespeare & Company's season opens on May 22 with The How and The Why, by Sarah Treem.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company presents Women of Will: An Evening with Tina Packer, featuring leading Shakespearean actor/director/dramaturg Tina Packer in a performance that deconstructs and conjures Shakespeare's famous female characters. Both will be directed by Eric Tucker.
