The Crested Butte Music Festival (CBMF) announced its 20th Season today. To celebrate the anniversary, the CBMF will debut a new venue, the Mt. Crested Butte Mirror Palace. One of only four such structures in the continental United States, this “Spiegeltent” will be nestled in the majestic mountains of Mt. Crested Butte. Audience members from around the world will be able to experience world-class music, educational programming, and exceptional food & beverage in this magical venue.

The Morris Museum continues its popular Jazz Showcase concert series with two performances in August 2015. On Monday, August 17, the Museum will welcome world-renowned double bassist and jazz vocalist Nicki Parrott. In addition, on Monday, August 24, pianist Mark Shane will return to the Bickford Theatre for a night of swinging numbers.

Triple threat bandleader BRIA SKONBERG will be showcasing her trumpet, vocal and compositional talents at the Mayo Performing Arts Center on Sunday March 30th. In 2013 she earned a Jazz Journalists' Association nomination for "Up and Coming Jazz Artist of The Year" and is included in DOWNBEAT Magazine's Rising Star Critics' Poll. She has recently been honored with a New York Bistro Award for "Outstanding Jazz Artist". Best known for her knowledge of classic jazz and instigative nature, she is creating an adventurous style rooted in New Orleans jazz and blues, pop, soul and cabaret. One review states, 'I was kind of thinking Norah Jones, Diana Krall but with a dose of the bubbly.'

Trumpeter/vocalist Bria Skonberg was inspired by Louis Armstrong. Alto saxophonist Tia Fuller was influenced by Cannonball Adderley. On Sunday, March 30 at 3 pm, at the Mayo Performing Arts Center, they will present a groundbreaking concert with no musical borders in a concert presented by the New Jersey Jazz Society. Throughout the seven-day sailing, nearly a dozen internationally-renowned jazz artists will perform with, and pay tribute to, the Jazz Hall-of-Famer, who counts Dizzy Gillespie and John Coltrane among his contemporaries and former band mates.
