National Theatre Live Announces Screenings for TRAVELLING LIGHT

National Theatre Live continues its third season with Nicholas Wright's new play TRAVELLING LIGHT, directed by Nicholas Hytner. Following Vincent in Brixton and The Reporter, Wright's new play is a funny and fascinating tribute to the Eastern European immigrants who became major players in Hollywood's golden age. The award-winning Antony Sher returns to the National to play "Jacob". National Theatre Live is an initiative by the UK's National Theatre to broadcast live performances onto cinema screens around the world.

Bringing the best of British theatre to cinemas across the U.S. this fall, NCM Fathom will present a series of events from the stage of the National Theatre of Great Britain. All events will begin at 7:00 p.m. local time. Presented by NT Live, BY Experience and Fathom, the four-part in-theater series will be broadcast to more than 130 additional U.S. movie theaters nationwide through NCM's exclusive Digital Broadcast Network.

Highlights of the forthcoming productions at the National Theatre, announced today by Nicholas Hytner, include new plays by Alan Bennett, Stephen Beresford, Lisa D'Amour, James Graham and Lucy Prebble. There will be adaptations of Mark Haddon's The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Simon Stephens, and of The Count of Monte Cristo by Richard Bean. Enda Walsh's Misterman receives its London premiere; classic revivals include Polly Findlay's production of Sophocles' Antigone, Shakespeare's Timon of Athens directed by Nicholas Hytner, Bijan Sheibani's staging of Damned for Despair by Tirso de Molina, and Nadia Fall's production of Bernard Shaw's The Doctor's Dilemma.

The National Theatre presents the third season of National Theatre Live (NT Live), a successful initiative to broadcast live performances from the National's stages to cinemas worldwide. In addition to the previously scheduled broadcasts of The Comedy of Errors (March 1), the season will include Travelling Light (February 9) and She Stoops to Conquer (March 29). Since its first season, which began in June 2009 with the acclaimed production of Phédre starring Helen Mirren, over half a million people have now experienced the National's acclaimed work on movie screens around the world. Amphibian Stage Productions present two new National Theatre Live screenings in association with the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. In addition to The Comedy of Errors on Thursday, March 29, Amphibian will also present screenings of Travelling Light on Thursday, February 23 and She Stoops to Conquer on Thursday, April 11. Screenings take place at 2 PM and 7 PM at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.

Kim Cattrall & Paul Gross Headed to Broadway in PRIVATE LIVES; Begins Nov. 6

Kim Cattrall and Paul Gross will star on Broadway this autumn in Noël Coward's Private Lives directed by Richard Eyre at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street). Previews will begin on Sunday November 6; opening night is Thursday November 17. The limited engagement runs through February 5 2012.

TOP GIRLS to Open 5 August at Trafalgar Studios

Max Stafford-Clark's new production of Caryl Churchill's Top Girls is to transfer to the Trafalgar Studios following its critically acclaimed, sell-out run at the Minerva Theatre, Chichester. Top Girls, produced in the West End by Sonia Friedman Productions, will run at the Trafalgar Studios from 5 August - 15 October 2011 with press night on 16 August 2011. Designs are by Tim Shortall with lighting by Jason Taylor, sound by Ian Dickinson and video design by Finn Ross. Stafford-Clark's Out of Joint/ Chichester Festival Theatre co-production reunites him with producer Sonia Friedman, with whom he co-founded Out of Joint Theatre Company in 1993.

Sheila Hancock, Anna Chancellor Set for Hampstead Theatre's LAST OF THE DUTCHESS

Richard Eyre will direct Nicholas Wright's compelling new play The Last of the Duchess at Hampstead Theatre. In an upstairs bedroom in a mansion near Versailles, Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor lies near the end of her life. According to a report by Baz Bamigboye for Daily Mail, the production will star Sheila Hancock as Maitre Suzanne Blum and Anna Chancellor as Caroline Blackwood. The production runs October 20 through November 26.

Nashville theater audiences were treated to a wide range of dramatic offerings in 2010, with the revival of some of the best-known American plays of the past half-century, along with productions of some amazing original works by a group of talented homegrown playwrights, whose subjects ranged from what goes on in the intimate confines of the ladies' room to a murder mystery comedy with a film noir ambience. Clearly, if 2010 is any indication, the new 2011 season now under way is going to be filled with even more surprises and delights.
