Noche Flamenca Presents ENTRE TU Y YO

Noche Flamenca, the renowned company founded by Artistic Director Mart n Santangelo and dancer Soledad Barrio, continues, 25 years into its existence, both to mine the fundamentals of the genre and to stretch beyond tradition into other canons and forms, as in the company's recent, internationally acclaimed Antigona, an adaptation of Sophocles' Antigone. Noche Flamenca comes to New York City's Connelly Theater with Entre T y Yo (Between You and Me), an evening-length program of duets, solos, and ensemble works exploring the constraints imposed and the possibilities afforded by human relationships.

Master Class Series At Hoff-Barthelson Begins March 2

The 2018-2019 Hoff-Barthelson Music School Master Class Series commences this March with world-renowned musicians pianist Jerome Lowenthal, Saturday, March 2, 2019, at 2:00 pm; cellist Natasha Brofsky, Thursday, March 7, 2019, at 7:30 pm; and violinist Daniel Phillips, Saturday, March 23, 2:00 pm. The classes, open to the public to observe free of charge, are held at Hoff-Barthelson Music School, 25 School Lane, Scarsdale. Rhinebeck Writers Retreat To Receive $10,000 NEA Grant

National Endowment for the Arts Acting Chairman Mary Anne Carter has approved more than $27 million in grants as part of the NEA's first major funding announcement for fiscal year 2019. Included in this announcement is Rhinebeck Writers Retreat's award of $10,000 for their musical theatre writer residencies and Triple R program - 2 readings and a residency.

Voyage Theater Compay Presents SPHINX By Neil Fleming

Voyage Theater Company/PARTS UNKNOWN Play Reading Series will present a staged reading of Sphinx by British playwright Neil Fleming, directed by Wayne Maugans, at the 53rd Street New York Public Library (18 W 53 Street, across the street from MOMA), Thur February 21 at 7pm. Dance/NYC Announces Its Tenth Annual Symposium

Christos Rafalides And The Manhattan Vibes Perform At WCT's Jazz Masters Series

On Saturday, February 16, the Jazz Masters Series of Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) will feature internationally known vibraphonist Christos Rafalides and his group, the Manhattan Vibes. Rafalides has appeared at such venues as Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall and has been featured with numerous notable artists including Wynton Marsalis and Chaka Khan. In 2002, a Manhattan Vibes CD was named one of the year's top ten jazz recordings by Jazz Times.

LEAP's New A Capella Musical Reflects Student Voices During Civil Rights Era

Learning through an Expanded Arts Program (LEAP), Inc. is featuring a new touring musical designed to enhance student curriculum and connect the impact of the arts and social justice. The Movement, an a cappella musical, will be performed by LEAP students and professional performers (LEAP Artists Live) as part of The New York Theater Festival's Winterfest, at The Hudson Guild Theatre, 441 West 26th Street, New York, NY. Inspired by the Children's Crusade of 1963, The Movement tells the story of the young people of Birmingham, Alabama, who marched against racial injustice. This award-winning production will be performed in schools throughout New York City as an educational experience for youth. Performances are February 12 at 6:15 pm (sold out); February 16 at 8:30 pm; and February 17 at 1 pm. The performance runs 90 minutes with no intermission.
