Arts For All has announced the YouTube Premiere of Voice Power, written and performed by AFA Teaching Artist Darian Dauchan, on Monday, April 18 at 3:00pm ET. 

Queens Theatre presents Hiplet Ballerinas for three shows only, on Saturday, April 30th at 2 PM and 8 PM and Sunday, May 1st at 3 PM.

Parthenia, New York's premiere viol consort, will present A Reliquary for William Blake, a concert on Friday, May 6 @ 7:30 PM at The Church of St. Luke in the Fields, 487 Hudson Street in Manhattan and online. The program, the third of Parthenia's 2021-22 NYC Concert Series, will also be webcast. Performers will be Parthenia Viol Consort with Cody Bowers, countertenor.

New York Theatre Workshop and National Black Theatre announced today casting, dates and ticket information for Dreaming Zenzile, based on the life of Miriam Makeba, by Grammy-nominated Vocalist/Composer Somi Kakoma directed by Obie Award winner, NYTW Usual Suspect & former NYTW 2050 Artistic Fellow Lileana Blain-Cruz.

The Trust for Governors Island announced today the opening of a  new commissioned artwork by multidisciplinary artist Sam Van Aken within Governors Island’s  award-winning park.

The Civilians (Steve Cosson, Artistic Director; Margaret Moll, Managing Director), the award-winning New York-based theater company, will honor actor-manager and co-founder of NAATCO Mia Katigbak and Obie Award-winning director and arts leader Les Waters at The Civilians 20th Anniversary Gala Concert. The event, which takes place on Monday, May 23 at 6:30pm at City Winery (25 11th Ave), will celebrate two decades of creative investigation into the richness and complexity of life.

The 2022 Hoff-Barthelson Music School Master Class Series continues with award-winning pianist Ingrid Jacobson Clarfield on Saturday, April 30, 2022, from 2:00 – 4:30 pm, at the School, 25 School Lane in Scarsdale.

From April 28-30, Gibney Center will present the world premiere of up against, a new work by acclaimed performer Jennifer Nugent. Through invitation, memory, movement, text, and sound, Nugent's up against emphasizes physical resonance.

Road Less Traveled Productions (RLTP) will present its second annual 10-Minute Play Festival on Monday, May 2nd at 7:30pm. Six selected playwrights will world-premiere their ten-minute plays centered around a Star Wars theme.  Originally announced in 2020, RLTP is excited to finally showcase a night of ten-minute plays by area writers.  The evening lineup, curated and led by Michael Doben, will include the following plays:

Hoff-Barthelson Music School will hold in-person auditions for the 2022-2023 season of the School's Festival Orchestra on Tuesday, May 10, 7-10 pm; Wednesday, May 18, 7-10 pm; and Friday, May 20, 5-8 pm, at the School, located at 25 School Lane in Scarsdale.

 Dance/NYC has announced an open call for proposals for the Coronavirus Dance Relief Fund: New York State Edition. Made possible by the generous support of the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), the purpose of this Fund is to continue Dance/NYC’s existing relief efforts and mitigate the continued impact of the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak on individual dance makers and small-budget dance making organizations and groups with budgets between $10,000 and $250,000 based in New York State. The Fund will prioritize individual dance makers and small-budget dance making organizations and groups based outside of the New York City metropolitan area and offer unrestricted relief to those that have incurred financial losses due to the spread of COVID-19 and the social restriction measures implemented to contain the disease.

American Lyric Theater (ALT) announced today InsightALT: Opera in Eden, a performance featuring three new one-act operas on themes of temptation developed by Resident Artists in the company’s nationally acclaimed Composer Librettist Development Program. ALT’s current Resident Artists (Composers Jasmine Barnes, Johanny Navarro, and Alex Weiser; and Librettists Joshua Banbury, Deborah D.E.E.P. Mouton, and Marcus Yi) were selected from over 200 applicants to join the CLDP this season. Opera in Eden, which is the culminating event of the first year of these artists’ residency, will take place at National Sawdust in Brooklyn on Tuesday, May 17th, 2022 at 7:00pm.

​​​​​​​The Museum of Jewish Heritage - A Living Memorial to the Holocaust announces its new core exhibition will open for previews on June 30, 2022. The Holocaust: What Hate Can Do will offer an expansive and timely presentation of Holocaust history told through personal stories, objects, photos, and film—many on view for the first time. 

A line of mysterious, black-cloaked, hooded figures on a procession through Greenwich Village, guided by the words of Irish playwright and poet Samuel Beckett – this is Cascando, the North American premiere of Beckett's a 1963 radio play, presented by NYU Skirball and produced by the Dublin-based Pan Pan theater.

Bloomingdale School of Music announces a community concert and spring benefit A New Bloom on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 6:30pm at The Riverside Church Assembly Hall, 490 Riverside Drive, NYC. A New Bloom honors the legacy of Timothy McCullough, Bloomingdale School of Music Resident Teaching Artist and longtime faculty member, who passed away on November 22, 2021.

Cortland Repertory Theatre has announced their 2022 5-show summer season to be held at the Little York Pavilion in Preble, NY, as a celebration of their 50th Anniversary. The season will run from June 8 – August 20 and will contain three musicals and two plays.
