ANYTHING GOES National Tour Sets Sail in Cleveland, Oct. 2012; First Dates Announced!

Roundabout Theatre Company will present the national tour of ANYTHING GOES, the 2011 Tony® Award winning Broadway musical theatre masterpiece. Roundabout Theatre Company's ANYTHING GOES sets sail at Cleveland's PlayhouseSquare in October 2012. Following its opening in Cleveland, Roundabout Theatre Company's ANYTHING GOES will cruise into more than 25 other cities during the 2012/2013 season including the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles.

THE LA MAMA CANTATA Returns To Ellen Stewart Theatre

Elizabeth Swados' new music theatre work THE LA MAMA CANTATA -- given its world-premiere for two performances in November -- returns by popular demand to the Ellen Stewart Theatre (66 E. 4 St.) for two additional performances during the holiday season on December 29 and 30 at 7:30 p.m., it has been announced by La MaMa's artistic director Mia Yoo.

The producers of the international hit comedy My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish & I'm in Therapy! by Steve Solomon, currently running at Toronto's Bathurst St. Theatre, have announced that the show has been extended due to popular demand through to January 29, 2012.

Alec Baldwin Comes to Two River Theater 11/21

Two River Theater Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Dias and Managing Director Michael Hurst, announces that tickets are now on sale for an intimate evening with actors Alec Baldwin and Michael Cumpsty on Monday, November 21 at 8 pm.

END OF THE RAINBOW to Play Broadway's Belasco; Cumptsy, Pelphrey & Russell Join Cast

Producers Lee Dean, Laurence Myers and Joey Parnes announced today that the complete cast of the Broadway premiere of End of the Rainbow, a new play with music, is in place. Michael Cumpsty, Tom Pelphrey and Jay Russell will join two-time Oliver Award-winner Tracie Bennett in Peter Quilter's acclaimed play about the legendary Judy Garland. Directed by the Tony® Award winning Terry Johnson, End of the Rainbow will begin performances on Monday, March 19, 2012 at the Belasco Theatre, with an opening night now set for Monday, April 2.

The event brought together a diverse and talented group of performers and composers at Joe's Pub to honor award-winning director and teacher, Gerald Freedman. Celebrating Freedman's career, this evening featured some of Broadway's greatest talents and legends, including Brian d'Arcy James, Jennifer Ferrin, Penny Fuller, Hal Holbrook, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Jeremy Jordan, Kevin Kline, Patti LuPone, Terrence Mann, John Mauceri, Estelle Parsons, Austin Pendleton, Bryce Pinkham,Wesley Taylor, Alfred Uhry, Price Waldman, and Emily Young, and including special video tributes by Olympia Dukakis and Chita Rivera. Review - King Lear

If Hamlet is the reward an actor gets for showing great promise in his youth, King Lear is the thank you he receives in the latter years of a distinguished career.  At age 35, Sam Waterston's Hamlet became one of the iconic performances to come out of the New York Shakespeare Festival.  Now, at 71, The Public Theater's gift for his decades of admirable stage work is the opportunity to essay the maddening royal whose rages against a perceived betrayal by the mosT Loving of his three daughters sets in motion the bloody collapse of a monarchy.  Unfortunately, the gift has not been wrapped very attractively.

As part of its 50th anniversary season, La MaMa will present the world-premiere of a new music theater work, 'The La MaMa Cantata' -- the text of which will be comprised of quotes from the theatre's late founder Ellen Stewart, and others' remembrances of her -- to be performed on what would have been her 92nd birthday on Monday, Nov. 7 and again the following day Tuesday, Nov. 8 at the Ellen Stewart Theatre (66 E. 4 St.) in Manhattan.

New Federal Theatre to Present Elaine Jackson’s Puberty Rites

Woodie King Jr's New Federal Theatre will present Puberty Rites by Elaine Jackson at their new temporary home at Castillo Theatre (543 West 42nd Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues.). Performances begin Sunday, November 6th. Performances continue through November 20th only.
