McDonald, Butz, Mayer & Stroman Among NYMF Grand Jury

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) is pleased to announce the Grand Jury for this year's Next Link Project, the writer-service program whose 18 selections will comprise more than half of the musicals at the fifth annual New York Musical Theatre Festival, September 15 through October 5

Hurwitz is New NYMF Exec. Dir.; Seeking Managing Dir.

Kris Stewart, who has served as Executive Director of the New York Musical Theatre Festival since its inception in 2004, has left his post as of January 2, 2008, ending a 5-year tenure that moved the festival artistically from regional to national prominence. Isaac Robert Hurwitz, 29, who served as the Festival's Director of Programming during its first season before assuming the role of Executive Producer, will lead the company as it enters its fifth season.

Kris Stewart, co-founder of the New York Musical Theatre Festival, announced his resignation from the position of Executive Director on January 2, 2008.

NYMF 2008 Accepting 'Next Link' Musical Submissions

From January 1 through March 1, NYMF will be accepting open submissions for The Next Link Project, through which 18 subsidized production slots in our 2008 Festival are awarded.

Skinner, Von Essen & Balgord Join 'Jerry Springer The Opera' Concert

Further casting has been announced for the two night only concert version of the smash hit London musical Jerry Springer The Opera which will play Carnegie Hall for two nights only on January 29 and 30, 2008. Joining Harvey Keitel are Max von Essen, Emily Skinner, Linda Balgord, Lawrence Clayton, Luke Grooms, Sean Jennes, Patricia Phillips, Sam Kitchin and Laura Shoop.

NYMF Hits Ticket-Sales Record, Announces 2008 Dates

Overall attendance at the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has increased for the fourth consecutive year, up to 41,000 from 36,400 in 2006. Coupled with Festival memberships increasing 30% to 520, 2007 will see the highest income target yet reached by the four-year-old festival.
