In addition to its 24 full productions, dance series, developmental series and concerts, The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) celebrates its fifth year by partnering with Ailey Citigroup Theater, Nuyorican Poets Café, The Philip Coltoff Greenwich Village Center, The Loft at Professor Thom's, The Cutting Room, and Paley Center (formally The Museum of Television & Radio) to bring more diverse special events to this years Festival, running September 15th to October 5th.

SOPHIA'S FALL, a musical by Benjamin Birney and Rob Seitelman, will perform at The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) as part of their new Dance Series.

he New York Musical Theatre Festival, Laura Brandel and Patrice Miller have announced Broadway and R&B star Billy Porter to direct a cast that includes Tony-Award Winner Chuck Cooper (The Life, Caroline or Change), Natalie Venetia Belcon (Avenue Q, The Glorious Ones, TV's Johnny and the Sprites) and Adam Halpin (Glory Days) in the world premiere musical Twilight in Manchego. The show, with music, lyrics and book by Jonathan Larson Award Winner Matt Gould, will play six performances at the ATA Theater (314 W. 54th Street) September 25th - October 4th, 2007.

The Ogunquit Playhouse is please to announce a star-studded cast for its stunning production of the magnificently romantic Lerner and Loewe musical, My Fair Lady, opening on August 13th and running through September 6th. This beloved musical tells the tale of a stringent linguist, Professor Henry Higgins, who bets a colleague he can turn flower vendor Eliza Doolittle from a guttersnipe into a duchess.

New York Musical Theater Festival's 2007 'Broadway Idol' winner, George Psomas, takes a night off from his role in the acclaimed revival of South Pacific to take the stage in his solo New York concert debut on Monday August 4th (10 PM) - joined by several special guests including Tony Award nominee Stephanie D'Abruzzo (Avenue Q) and Jim Stanek (Hero in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, staring with Nathan Lane). NYMF Director of Programming Jess McLeod directs, with musical direction by Jana Zielonka, along with musicians Brad Russell and Jay Mack.

On July 14th, 2008 the New York Musical Theatre Festival (Isaac Robert Hurwitz, Executive Director and Producer) presented a Guitar Hero benefit tournament featuring Broadway celebrities at Stitch Bar and Lounge (247 West 37th Street). Performers/Guitar Heroes appearing included Felicia Finley (The Wedding Singer), Alli Mauzey (Cry-Baby), John Selya (Damn Yankees, Movin' Out), Paul Stancato (Director/Chorographer) and Jason Tam (A Chorus Line), among many others.

On Monday, July 21, New York Theatre Barn will be presenting its next installment of its monthly show highlighting new composers, writers and artists, NYTB at the Duplex.
