Grammy nominated recording artist and Broadway performer, Marty Thomas (Xanadu, Secret Garden, Wicked) presents: Diva at Industry-Bar.

Though Bonnie & Clyde closes on Broadway tomorrow, December 30, the story of the infamous duo will live on at Georgia's Aurora Theatre in 2012. Bonnie & Clyde: A Folktale has attracted an impressive creative team for the premiere of this new musical at Aurora Theatre in March 2012. Storied Broadway veteran, award-winning Lonny Price will direct, while the magnificent Josh Rhodes, having worked on the show through development, will choreograph. It is no wonder the project has attracted world-class talent. The musical is the brain child of Broadway stars Hunter Foster and Rick Crom. Aurora Theatre Associate Producer Ann-Carol Pence joins as musical director. She discovered the show while attending the New York Musical Theatre Festival, a place where new shows like Tony Award-winning Next to Normal got their start.

Stephen Wadsworth's new production of Terrence McNally's Master Class starring Tyne Daly as the legendary opera soprano Maria Callas is to transfer to the Vaudeville Theatre following its critically acclaimed, sell-out run on Broadway. Joining Daly are Gerard Carey (Stagehand), Jeremy Cohen (Emmanuel Weinstock), Naomi O'Connell (Sharon Graham), Dianne Pilkington (Sophie De Palma) and Garrett Sorenson (Anthony Candolino).

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Jonathan Caren's hard-hitting drama, The Recommendation. Directed by Jonathan Munby, The Recommendation will run Jan. 21 - Feb. 26, 2012 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run Jan. 21 - Jan. 25. Bob Stillman, Linda Balgord, Anika Larsen and Lucas Steele will lead the cast of Prospect Theater Company's production of Myths and Hymns, Adam Guettel's acclaimed song cycle about memory, loss and redemption.

Interart Theatre and Royal Family Productions (RFP) are proud to announce that Anthony Rapp (RENT) and Dee Roscioli (Wicked) and James Kautz (Amoralists) will star in the US premiere of Dedalus Lounge written by Irish playwright Gary Duggan, directed by RFP's Chris Henry, with original musical by Anthony Rapp and Daniel A. Weiss. Dedalus Lounge will begin performances January 8 and will open on January 12 and will initially run through January 30, 2012 at the Interart Theatre Annex (500 West 52 Street, 2nd Floor). Due to a cast member's availability, Balls…the Musical? which opened a limited Off-Broadway engagement on December 7 at The Lion Theatre on Theatre Row (410 W. 42nd St.), will end its run one week early through Sunday, December 18.

Three years ago I posted a review emphatically praising the Prospect Theatre Company's developmental production of Jim and Ruth Bauer's The Blue Flower, calling it, 'a unique, intelligent and wondrously creative evening of musical theatre' that 'skillfully tackles the tricky business of mixing the art of musical theatre with the anti-art movement of Dada.'  A German creation born amidst the rubble of the First World War, Dada was an artistic, literary and theatrical movement that attacked the sensibilities of a culture that could send millions of young men to slaughter by celebrating anarchy and irrationality.
