Auditions are currently underway for Prospect Theater Company's annual Musical Theater Summer Intensive for students aged 12-17. Beginning July 8 and running through July 27, students will participate in a daily musical theater training program from 10am - 6pm.

Television star Monica Raymund of NBC's Chicago Fire is making her debut as a lead produce because she believes in, and is inspired by, the show's positive message of self-acceptance and empowerment for young women.
The Planet Connections Theatre Festivity presents Walden, a story-theatre style musical adaptation of Thoreau's best seller, featuring his work on the underground railroad and his star-crossed romance. Six performances for Walden will be held at the Robert Moss Theatre, 440 Lafayette Street, NYC from today, May 29-June 15 as part of The Planet Connections Theatre Festivity. The Festivity will take place May 29th through June 23rd at Gene Frankel and Robert Moss Theatres in New York City.

Connecticut's premier outdoor Shakespeare will present As You Like It, June 13-30, 2013. The show is one of Shakespeare's most beloved and pastoral comedies. Claire Shannon Kelly, currently the Director of Youth Programming for Shakespeare on the Sound and the director of the company's touring educational program, 'Speaking Daggers,' will direct. Kelly previously worked at the Ordway Theater, the Guthrie Theater, the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey and the George Street Playhouse. She is a resident of New Canaan.
Actor/sword fighters Jacqueline Ann Holloway and Robert Westley will be joining NYCB dancers Jared Angle and Megan LeCrone and members of the Sebastians Chamber Orchestra for On Point: From Duel to Pas de Deux, to be presented by Salon/Sanctuary Concerts. An exploration of the shared origins of sword fighting and ballet, On Point will be presented on Monday June 3rd at The Liederkranz Club at 7:00PM. Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) seeks submissions for the 13th Annual TRU Voices New Musicals Reading Series, and increases the opportunities for musical theater writers by creating the first-ever Musical Writers First Act Feedback Fest (FAFF). Writers, producers and theater companies are welcome to submit new musicals for both the developmental reading series which takes place Mondays in December 2013, and the daylong feedback festival on Saturday July 20, 2013, 10am to 5pm. Non members may submit to the TRU Voices New Musicals Series (completed musicals only) for a $25 fee, submit to the First Act Feedback Fest (completed shows or works-in-progress) for $20, or apply to both for $35. Deadline for both is June 10, 2013; deadline for JUST the TRU Voices Series is August 10.

Snap-Two Productions, Inc. and LimanAde Productions in association with Issembert Productions, Inc. will present a staged reading of the new drama with music, Signs of Life, at American University in the Katzen Arts Center Studio Theatre on June 1 at 7:00 P.M. and June 2 at 1:00 P.M. The performances will feature American University alumni, current students and a student from BRAVO@KAT, the children's wing of Kensington Arts Theatre. This is the first academic production of Signs of Life.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has announced the lineup of special events, concerts, student productions, and free developmental readings for its 10th annual festival.
