GAY CAMP Returns to NYC Stage 8/17 at the Duplex

It's gay; it's camp; it's Gay Camp! Following its sold-out run as part of the 2012 New York International Fringe Festival and subsequent Fringe Encore Series, the show's creators are returning with an even more laugh-packed run of the hit play Gay Camp, opening at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 6:30pm.

FringeNYC to Present NAKED IN ALASKA, 8/15-24

Next month as apart of the New York International Fringe Festival, Valerie Hager will bring her triumphant solo show Naked In Alaska to NYC performances held at The Celebration Of Whimsy a.k.a. The C.O.W. (21-A Clinton Street, formerly The Living Theatre.)

Monica Byrne's WHAT EVERY GIRL SHOULD KNOW Set for FringeNYC, Begin. 8/9

The Order of St. Margaret Sanger will present WHAT EVERY GIRL SHOULD KNOW by Monica Byrne, directed by Jaki Bradley, as part of the 17th annual New York International Fringe Festival - FringeNYC, and feature the music of Amanda Palmer. The production will run August 9th - 25th at Venue #16: Robert Moss Theater at 440 Studios.

UnsungMusicals Developing USO Musical UP IN ARMS; Autumn Hurlbert, Brian Sears & More Star in Reading

UnsungMusicalsCo. (UMC) has announced that it is currently developing Up in Arms!, a new musical by Emmy Award winner Arnold Auerbach ("The Phil Silvers Show," Call Me Mister) and Tony Award winner Frank Loesser (Guys and Dolls, How to Succeed...). A private exploratory reading was held on July 15, 2013. UMC is targeting Fall 2014 to present the new work, which is being developed in collaboration with the estates of Mr. Loesser and Mr. Auerbach.

Dan Fingerman's STRANDED ON MOTOR PARKWAY to Premiere at FringeNYC, 8/9

ELR Productions, LLC has announced that Playwright Dan Fingerman (THE AUSTERITY OF HOPE) will team up with director Christina Roussos (MAGIC TRICK) to present the world premiere of STRANDED ON MOTOR PARKWAY; a new family drama set against the backdrop of the 1986 World Series victory, August 9 - 16. In a festival known for outrageous offerings, this play is one of the more poignant and darker NY International Fringe Festival shows. The production will run at Teatro SEA, located in the Clemente Soto Velez Cultural & Educational Center at 107 Suffolk Street, on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

Josue Gutierrez Guerra to Lead PENINSULA at FringeNYC; Full Cast Announced!

PENINSULA, a world-premiere play by Nathan Wright, will be presented as part of the 17th Annual New York International Fringe Festival - Fringe NYC, held this year from August 9th - 25th. Produced by In Absentia Productions and directed by Nadia Foskolou, PENINSULA stars Angela Atwood, Vanessa Bartlett, Josue Gutierrez Guerra, Kellan Peavy, Marc Sinoway (Logo's 'Hunting Season'), and John Zdrojeski. PENINSULA will play five performances at 'Fringe Venue #16,' Robert Moss Theater at 440 Studios (440 Lafayette Street): Wednesday, 8/14 at 4:15 pm; Friday, 8/16 at 8:45 pm; Saturday, 8/17 at 5:15 pm; Monday 8/19 at 9:00 pm; and Thursday 8/22 at 2:30 pm. Lee J. Kaplan's BULLY to Play Steve & Marie Sgouros Theatre as Part of FringeNYC, 8/10-21

Next month as a part of the New York International Fringe Festival, Lee J. Kaplan will bring his powerful solo show BULLY to NYC at The Steve & Marie Sgouros Theatre(115 MacDougal Street, formerly the Players Theatre Loft) running from August 10 to August 21. Inspired by entries in Lee's sixth-grade journal, in the multi-character play he returns to the scene of the crime for the fight of his life, calling to the ring those who subjected him to unrelenting bullying attacks.

The 17th Annual New York International Fringe Festival presents EN AVANT! AN EVENING WITH TENNESSEE WILLIAMS-an acclaimed new play about the creative forces and demons behind the genius of playwright Tennessee Williams, written and performed by William Shuman-with performances set for August 9 (9:30pm), August 16 (3pm), August 17 (9:45pm), August 20 (4:45pm), August 23 (7:15pm) and August 24 (2pm) at Clemente Soto Velez Cultural and Education Center's Kabayitos (107 Suffolk Street). Join a live studio audience on the set of a '70s-style sitcom as The Inconvenience, The New Colony and the University of Chicago's Theater and Performance Studies Program team up to co-produce the world premiere of B-SIDE STUDIO, co-written by Inconvenience Resident Writer Ike Holter and New Colony Co-Artistic Director Evan Linder and directed by Nicholas J. Carroll, Andrew Hobgood and Gus Menary. B-SIDE STUDIO is performed on Fridays and Saturdays at 9/8c (that's 8 pm in Chicago, meathead!) from September 13 - October 12, 2013 at The Logan Center for the Arts, 915 E. 60th St. in Chicago. Dancer/actress Charlotte Bydwell brings her acclaimed solo show, Woman of Leisure and Panic, to the 17th annual New York International Fringe Festival for five performances, August 11-23 at the Theater at the14th Street Y, 344 East 14th Street (near First Avenue). The show, written, choreographed and performed by Bydwell, premiered in the 8th Annual soloNOVA Festival, 2011, and received a nomination for a New York Innovative Theatre Award for Outstanding Performance Art Production.
