The Bulgarians have arrived! The Drama League (Executive Director, Gabriel Shanks), in conjunction with The Present Company, present the American premiere of The Spider, the award-winning production from Bulgarian company Theatre B+, written and directed by Dimitar Dimotrov and Jordan Slaveykov, with music by Alexander Kalanov and Jordan Borisov, as part of the 17th Annual New York International Fringe Festival - Fringe NYC, the first Bulgarian theatrical event in the 25-year history of the festival. The acclaimed Bulgarian cast will include Penko Gospodinov and Anastassia Liutova.
Horse Trade Theater Group will present Assurbanipal Babilla's play SOMETHING SOMETHING ÜBER ALLES (DAS JACKPOT) directed by David Cote (Otherland;The Scarlet Ibis) and performed by Robert Honeywell (Every Play Ever Written; The Lathe of Heaven), September 19-October 5 at UNDER St. Marks (94 St. Marks Place between 1st Avenue and Avenue A).
Red Tape Theatre (RTT) announces their 2013/14 Season, which marks their 10th Anniversary Season and first season under the direction of new Artistic Director, Brandon Ray. The season opens October 14th, 2013 with the world premiere of The Life and Death of Madam Barker by Brooke Allen, with music and lyrics by John Fournier and directed by Eric Hoff. Then, in January of 2014 RTT will present the US premiere of hamlet is dead. no gravity by Ewald Palmetshofer, translated by Neil Blackadder and directed by Seth Bockley. Concluding the season in May of 2014, RTT will present another US Premiere, Earthquakes in London, by Mike Bartlett and directed by Brandon Ray. Red Tape Theatre's 10th Season will be presented at its home in St. Peter's Episcopal Church, located at 621 W Belmont Ave.

Alzheimer's casts its long shadow over an already broken family in Joe Beck's poignant drama A Homecoming. Edited by Tom Philbin, directed by Troy Miller and presented by Adam Weinstock and Creative Concept Productions as part of the 17th Annual New York International Fringe Festival (Fringe NYC), A Homecoming will be performed at the Players Theater, located at 115 MacDougal Street (between W 3rd St. & BleeckerSt. (Fringe Venue #17). The production will run Saturday, August 10 at 4:45pm; Friday, August 16 at 2pm; Tuesday, August 20 at 9pm; Thursday, August 22 at 1pm; and Friday, August 23 at 7pm.
Everyman Theatre has announced the directors attached to each of its six productions for the upcoming 2013/14 season. Renowned and award-winning director Walter Dallas will be making his Everyman debut with BY THE WAY, MEET VERA STARK next spring. Susanna Gellert, hot off of her work with the MY AMERICA project at Centerstage, will both be making their Everyman Theatre debuts this season. Founding Artistic Director Vincent Lancisi will direct the first and last shows of the season - THE GLASS MENAGERIE and TRIBES, respectively. And returning to Everyman will be two audience favorites - celebrated directors Donald Hicken and Derek Goldman.
BRENDA, a supernatural road-trip play written by EST Youngblood member and Yale graduate Cory Finley, will receive its world premiere in the 2013 New York International Fringe Festival. Performances begin August 13 at the Robert Moss Theater at 440 Studios.
The original play Track Twelve, written and presented by Emily Comisar will premiere this August as part of the 17th annual New York International Fringe Festival - FringeNYC. This production will be directed by Josh Penzell and feature a cast of local actors: Leo Goodman, Keelie A. Sheridan, Sarah Sanders, and Charlie Gorrilla. Matthew Greene, a Brigham Young University graduate and practicing Mormon, is preparing for the New York City premier of "Adam and Steve and the Empty Sea," his new play that tackles the issues of Mormonism and marriage equality. After a sold-out and critically acclaimed world premier at Plan B Theatre in Salt Lake City, the production will transfer to the New York International Fringe Festival, playing August 9-15. Directed by Jerry Rapier, the production will feature Topher Rasmussen and Logan Tarrantino as its title characters.
